Not trying to jinx this, but the last time the Nats have swept the Fish in Miami was in 2005 (September 26-28)
The last overall sweep of the Marlins was in 2007 (May 11-13)

We also swept them at home on 4th/5th/6th August 2009 - scores 6-4, 5-4 and 12-8 respectively, winning pitchers Villone, Lannan and Sosa respectively: http://espn.go.com/mlb/team/schedule/_/name/wsh/year/2009/washington-nationals

The current series comes practically a year to the day since our last series win over the Marlins - 7th/8th/9th May 2010 at home: L 4-2 (LP Bruney), W 5-4, W 3-2 (Clippard with both wins).

Good find, I retract my latter statement.

Sosa

Wow, I'd almost forgotten about that guy.

How are you so fast with all this info, OldChelsea? Or is it a trade secret?

Truth be told, I was actually working on my own run-down of our last wins over the Marlins in various permutations at the same time, using the fixtures/results databases on ESPN.com - got beaten to the 'submit' button by just a nose.

Jayson Werth career vs Anibal Sanchez: 2/22, 15 Ks. He's getting the day off.

Didn't seem like you were any closer to fixing it.  You don't have a template?

Anibal owns the Nats and the Marlins' bats should bust out against Livo.

2 out of 3 is ok, just wished we had won 1 game in Philly.

Get 2 outta 3 from braves too, a 4-5 road record would be sick all things considering.

One of the beat writers said the same thing, a 4-5 road record would be impressive.

He's had some control issues as of late, though.  If the Nats can stay patient, like they have been all season, they should be able to get Sanchez's pitch count high fairly quickly.
