I know, but if the third base umpire confirmed that the ball was not caught, he would be much more likely to call Soriano safe at second

if anything the play was so close that he should've given us the benefit of the doubt for his horrible call on the other play

This another reason frank is a terrible manager. He was just sitting in the dugout looking pissed. Thanks for helping the team. He could have come out and asked the third base umpire for what he saw, I'm sure he had a good view of it. At the very least, at least the ump may give the nats the soriano call. But no, he just stands there.

Yep, I agree.  The only time Frank ever comes out is over stupid s***.  He never argues when we get screwed.

Wow you guys will turn on anyone in a heartbeat...  Lopez has been great for us for the most part, and he is easily going to be our leadoff hitter next year if Sori goes, and probably our 2nd baseman if Vidro goes.  He's generally been for more successful at doing his job since he got here than his buddy Kearns.

I don't fault anyone for being grumpy at the Nats sucking so much, but the whole bi-polar routine from everyone gets old pretty quick

Anyone: <insert player name> is great!!

5 minutes later...
Anyone: <insert player name> sucks!!!  God he's awful, belongs in A league!

10 minutes later...
Anyone: <insert player name> really gives me hope for the future of this team!!!!

That is the way of the mob.  Fans are so fickle.  They could never make proper decisions for running a team.  At MLB Home Offices they have a word for all the "suggestions" from fans about running their teams.  They call is SPAM.

And none of US are those kind of fan, because no fan would be as devoted as to post regularly on a message board devoted to the team.  Now Chief, that is a big exaggeration

In the particular case coming up tonight was Felipe Lopez.  A three game series in which a player goes 0 for 18 is hardly five seconds.

Most things I say I actually stand by.  I said Lopez was a poor 2 strike hitter, that will never change. I'm not the guy penciling in Beltran Perez as our #3 starter next year and Ortiz as our #4-5.
