_______________________________________ ______________

Hill is coming off his best game of the season, when he gave up one run on
four hits in eight innings against the Braves. He retired 14 of the first 16
batters he faced, but he ran into trouble in the sixth inning, when Yunel
Escobar singled to right field to drive in Blanco and give Atlanta a 1-0 lead.
A tough critic on himself, Hill was satisfied with his outing, but he still needs
to work on his breaking ball.

Chacon had his least effective outing of 2008 in his last start on Wednesday,
yielding five runs over five innings in an eventual loss to the Diamondbacks.
Still, Chacon took a no-decision in that game, which brings his number of starts
without a decision to a grand total of six. His most recent outing was the only
one that didn't qualify as a quality start. Chacon faced the Nationals three
times last year, allowing four earned runs over seven innings. Lifetime versus
Washington, Chacon is 3-2 with one save and a 4.30 ERA over 11 appearances.

i've been waiting to say this...

HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM. THE RED HOT WASHINGTON NATIONALS ARE COMING TO TOWN!

apparently though, the stros are streaking right now too. regardless, i like our chances of a sweep and it starts tonight. this is the most winnable game of the 3.

LET'S CONTINUE THE RESURGENCE TO .500!!!  :woop: :woop:

Kaz Matsui makes that team SO much better. They were definitely missing his presence the first couple of weeks.

I'm not too worried about Pence, but Berkmann is a Nat killer and a half.

Nice outing for Jordan Zimmermann in his first AA start: 5.2 IP 4 H 3 R 1 ER 3 BB 4 SO

Errors by Lefave and Desmond caused the unearned runs.

Oh no, trust me, I make plenty of those kinds of errors, especially in the first game of a new series.  Thanks for pointing it out

Yeah, but he left the game with the bases loaded, and the relief pitcher came in and really bailed him out. He was cruising through 5 but had trouble in the 6th. All in all a solid start for Zimmermann.

i had the volume down, what was mark zuckerman talking about before ryan zmimerman's day off?  He said something about possibly sending someone down and whether or not we'd see a debut this year?  was he talking about one of our pitching prospects?  thanks.

It probably is.  I've seen him right there before.  He frequently attends Astros games.

That's a kick-ass way to spend retirement.
