It was on the road too. W&M was in the CAA Championship game last year (GMU beat them). Not a huge win but a conference road win is a conference road win.

Our games next week against Northeastern and VCU are going to be sick.

W&M looked piss poor in that PSU game. Pathetic really. The CAA teams could never beat MSU or OSU. No way.

Mason beat Michigan St in 2006
They also beat UNC and UCONN. I assume you mean this season?

Mason is off to its best start in conference play ever. They have tied the record for best start to the season at 13-3.
The future is extremely bright, and I doubt anyone can deny that.

Yes I mean this year. 2006 was a special year for GMU.

I think in the next 3-5 years they make a trip to the sweet 16. I think the future is very bright.
This team is off to a better start than they were in 2006. If they win the CAA tourney, they could shock a lot of teams. I think next year can be really special, especially if they get a better schedule.

I liked when they were the Fresno State of b-ball, playing Wichita State on the road in the middle of their conference schedule, that sort of thing.

It's garbage like what WPA posted above that makes me hate Maryland. We get them shoved down our throats in the local media like they are our team or something.

Maryland is by FAR the most popular college basketball team in the DC area.  It's by FAR the largest, most successful university in the DC area, and is located inside the Beltway.  It's far more integral and important to the DC area then George Mason will ever be.  George Mason didn't even exist when Lefty Driesell put college basketball on the map around here.  It's ludicrous for you to be so ignorant of the history of your own area that you don't already know this.

You poke and prod and insult and then when you get slammed you whine like a nag.  Stop bugging us and we'll stop sticking facts up your ass.

I live in Virginia and always have. freak Maryland. Why should I be forced to root for them? Just because I live in the DC-Metro general area?

So get your own damn TV stations then.  Cause for every person that wants to watch Mason play basketball, there's 20 that would rather watch Maryland.  If there was a market for Mason on TV, the games would be on.

The GMU games are almost always televised despite what you might think.

This season 21 of 29 GMU bball regular season games will be aired either locally (MASN, CSN, etc.) or nationally (ESPN, ESPN2). Starting with this Saturday's game against JMU every George Mason bball game will be televised for the rest of the year.

26 of 31 Maryland games will be televised either locally or nationally.

Roughly the same for both.

Then I don't understand what you're complaining about.  You get to watch your team, and nobody forces you to watch ours.

collegehoops.net made a list of who they think the best players in the country are so far this season. I agree with most of them, but I think Monroe needs to be in the top 10. He's definitely a better all-around player than Kyle Singler.

1 Blake Griffin
2 Stephen Curry
3 Tyler Hansbrough
4 James Harden
5 Luke Harangody
6 Darren Collison
7 Ty Lawson
8 Patrick Patterson
9 Jeff Teague
10 Sam Young
11 Jonny Flynn
12 Kyle Singler
13 Tyrese Rice
14 Jodie Meeks
15 Tyler Smith
16 Jordan Hill
17 Hasheem Thabeet
18 DeJuan Blair
19 Greg Monroe
20 Damion James

Definitely. I wouldn't mind getting Hill or Monroe if Griffin's not available.

A sleeper is DeJuan Blair.  Dude is a straight up beast :az: .  Pitt is my Big East team and the kid just does things to make a coach and a fan proud.

Plus his momentum had him swinging from the rim. Had he let go any sooner he would fallen on his head.

i think it was just the fact that sportsfan would post randomly about maryland losing and you don't see anyone posting when mason losses.  honestly i don't care i'm still a fan and just love college basketball overall, but there are tons of maryland fans on here, so it's kinda trolling in an odd way.

Yeah but Sportsfan nages about everybody that doesn't play for GMU or the P-Nats.
