this line smells fishy. the Marlins opened as -165 favorites but now the line is down to -140. You figured this line would be like -170 or higher considering we have D-Crab on the mound and the Fish absolutely own us.

I still think Florida wins but this game may be closer than a blowout.

It may just reflect the fact that on the rare occassions that Cabrera is on, he can be lights out. Nice to see the lineup hasn't changed - Way to manage manny

I'm actually going to be able to watch this game. Hopefully Cabrera surprises us all today so the bullpen can get some rest. If he's pitching well, he can easily go 8 or 9.

Yeah, that sucks. He needs some PT. I'm pretty sure he would've been in the lineup today had Kearns not hit a homer yesterday.

Milledge leading off in CF.  We're going to get swept by the freaking Fish.

Given all the righty power bats on the Marlins and the fact that we just put up two light-throwing lefties (now that Olsen can't seem to top 90MPH), people may assume we have a better chance with Cabrera against a kid like Volstad.

Of course, after the game, Manny will likely say, "Hey Volstad's good. He's a tough kid to beat. There's a reason he was pitching up here when he was 21. Look at his numbers."

Two 6'7" pitchers facing each other. I wonder how many times that's happened.

Sept. 14, Collin Balester took a no-hitter into the sixth; the Nats took a 6-1 lead in the eighth. Then, four different Nats relievers surrendered runs in Florida's seven-run bottom of the eighth, and Washington lost 8-7. (Looking back, that might have been the season's visceral low point)

Lets hope this doesn't happen again and we are at our lowest point of the season right now.

WTF is with the early start time - I'm gonna have to DVR most of it and come back to it.

The Nats are worried about our livers.

Is Collin actually pitching better or is he simply taking advantage of non-major-league talent? I ask this seriously. I am glad he is successful, because we need him to be. But we need him to actually pitch well, and he wasn't do so in the Spring.

I don't think the lineups have been posted yet.  This is part of the reason 2K6Nats wanted the thread locked until it got closer to game time...

The Nats are worried about our livers.

That is patently untrue for two reasons:

1.  We start drinking at 9:00 a.m. anyway so what's the point? and

2.  If they REALLY cared they might have asked Manny to change the lineup just a bit to show us they're trying to make things happen.

I think the line up card is made out in ink. There is no way you can change it now.

No, they are going green and recycling. (Also, it saves money. Why change the lineup, when you can save a few pennies on paper products.)

Hopefully Willingham gets at least two innings in the field and one AB today.

Nice to get Milledge out of there.  Too bad we can't keep Johnson in there.

That's an interesting lineup. NJ should definitely be out of the lineup every third or fourth game.

Which line up is it then?

If it's the one with Dukes in it, prepare for the Fairy Patrol to swarm with their magic pixie dust and KY Jelly.
