Unfortunately, the throw from Desmond sailed a little

You could've caught that throw.

Awful ending.

Terrible performances all around.

One of the worst wins of the season.

We lucked out on this one.    Any win is good.  But I don't feel good about this one at all.

Big win.

We really have to start hitting though, this is getting absurd. This crap won't fly once we have to start facing our NL East foes like the Braves and Phillies again. We will start losing unless we start hitting and playing better D.

Nationals have scored 16 runs in their last five wins. They've allowed 11 runs, and won all of those games by a run.

Not going to last, this is 2005-first-half-esque. We have to start playing better to see this streak continue.

So is the interview with Debbi Taylor a setup for the pie or gatorade slam ?

I feel like we got really unlucky tonight, Jayson Werth excluded. Espinosa had a liner that should've been a double. Bernadina had at least 3 hard-hit balls right at fielders. We could've scored 3-4 more runs if we just had some better luck.

But still, it needs to improve overall. I'll take the W.

I feel great about it.  We hit the ball hard all night, plenty of well struck shots right at or close to defenders.  BABIP will improve if we keep hitting like that.

And Detwiler did a fine job, as did the pen.
