Currently enjoying a new CD of Itzhak Perlman doing Mendelssohn: Concerto in E minor and Bruch: Concerto No. 1 in G minor, with the Concertgebouw Orchestra and Bernard Haitink. Sublime!!

Sorry, but I've always felt both were ridiculously overrated, especially Marley.

Just not my cup of tea I suppose. Listening to Bob Marley makes me want to blow my brains out.

Hendrix? Overrated? The guy was so into the guitar his penis was basically a guitar! Hands down, greatest guitarist of all time.

While I certainly don't have the best ear for reggae and the like, Marley's lyrics were fantastic. They are universal and have spoken to many a generation and many more to come.

I'm not really a fan of either, but Hendrix is a great guitarist and Marley's lyrics are awesome. I respect that.

As for what I'm listening to, "Quit Playing Games with My Heart" by, yep, you guessed it, the Backstreet boys.

I'm rocking out to Air Supply and Wham.  Might cue up some New Kids on the Futon later.  Ahhhh...

Awesome! Love that music. Right now I have Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez going - but with a harp instead of a guitar (Gwyneth Wentink is the performer). So, so beautiful...

My daughter is a senior in high school, and had to pick two quotes for the yearbook.  One was from Jimi Hendrix, the other from Mother Teresa.

Rolling Stone picked Hendrix as the greatest rock guitarist of all time.

They also picked "Like a Rolling Stone" as the best song of all time. That's not even the best Bob Dylan song.

I can't say I agree with everything Rolling Stone writes, but this is one thing I can agree on.

True.  Everyone knows it's "Tangled up in blue".  Unless of course it is actually "If you see her, say hello".    :?

More Eleuveitie, the first one this time - which I think is even more Celtic sounding, actually. Probably Devildriver and In Flames later. I need to get pumped up today. Might slow it down in the afternoon, something calm like Pedro the Lion.

I keep listening to Pearl Jam's "Betterman" in my car. Fantastic song. It's a fun (and easy) song to play on the guitar, too.

Ugh, I heard "Kung Fu Fighting" on the XM/Sirius 70s station this morning and can't get it out of my mind. It has to be one of dumbest songs to come out of the 70s.  :spaz:

I've always liked it in a Curly Shuffle kind of way.
