Dude, that was right near his face. It could've been a lot worst than it was. I'm glad the ump and catcher cut him off. I think he wouldve tried something against Martin.

What you don't know is, sportsfan likes brawls. He thinks fighting is a sign of good character.

One of their pitchers is going to be gunning for Zimmerman.

since when have the Nats ever had a brawl?

we have to retaliate or other teams will continue to plunk our batters without hesitation. I'm proud of Martin for showing some balls and defending his team.

I wanted more offense. I rather Willingham stayed in there. Should've did a dbl switch to move Dukes up in the lineup

We don't have to retaliate. We have to win games. If other teams plunk our hitters, we SHOULD retaliate - by making those runners score!

Martin just screwed up and aimed badly.

They're up by 9 in the top of the 7th and you want more offense? :)

U dont throw at a players head, though. Even if your protecting your squad. Besides retaliations usually happen the same or next inning. Dukes got plunked some time ago.

that's all fine and dandy until they hit Zimmerman or Willingham and break their hand or worse with a HBP. you have to send a message that we are not wusses and will not tolerate teams beaning our players.

I never said it had to be head shot. Did you see David Wright get drilled today in the helmet? ouch.

Nyjer Morgan might be the best thing that ever happened to Elijah Dukes. If he's never had a role model he could relate to, he does now.

It's not enough.  They should have offered at least $25 million.
