Clippard isn't hurt, he is just an idiot.  Four straight fastballs up in the zone is just plain stupid.

Was Nieves calling for them? :?

Hammer :worship:

Cant blame him too much - with two outs and Hanley on deck, you cant walk Sanchez.  Maybe just a little over-aggressive, though.  Clip is back out there again.  He is on pace to match his career IPs this season - that is a concern!

I'm pretty sure Kennedy has turned every player into a dipper this year.

He didn't change the batter's eye level at all and used the same pitch for four straight pitches.  Wil Nieves would have taken that pitch out of the park.

Who the hell keeps calling out what pitch he is going to throw before he throws it?

It's annoying me.

thats a good point.  He challenged him one too many times.  That's a sitaution you really miss Pudge playing.

Pretty nasty change to Uggla, though.

Willingham and the 1-2-3 8th were the deodorant for the Sanchez shot.

I think a lot of the blame goes on Nieves, but it looks like Clippard missed his spots on two of those four seamers.  He might not have looked at the scouting report either, which would have mentioned how Sanchez crushes fastballs.  But you can't expect perfection I suppose.  Clippard has other pitches he can throw, he didn't HAVE to rely on the fastball.  Like the changeup as you mention.  Good pitch that he can locate.

Hell yeah Guzzie!

Can't blame Nyjer.  He hit the tar out of the ball.  Get the ball in the air Dunn.
