Lonely Island's Popstar looks awesome.  They aired a clip on Falon last night that involved Seal, a marriage proposal, and wolves.

The Nice Guys was funny, a bit much towards the end with the shoot em ups but Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe were good together, was fun to lol during a movie for a change.

I hope the Warcraft movie doesn't bomb. I played a ton of Warcraft in my youth, both the RTS and the MMO(before real life set in and I got married and had a family). But you know how it is with movies based off video games....

Saw the movie Gutten Tag Ramon on Netflix a few weeks ago. Good movie and I recommend it. For some reason it dawned on me today that the character Ramon reminds me of Anthony Rendon. Physically a little but mostly his persona. Earnest but "what me worry" easy hoeing attitude. Which made me think that Anthony reminds me of Alfred E Newman also. So I am going to call Rendon either Ramon or Alfred.

Popstar is terrific - my favorite movie of the year so far. Very funny.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall has been running on MTV the last few evenings, I've now watched it twice in the last two days.

I took my son to see Ghostbusters. It wasn't bad and he enjoyed it, so it was money well spent.

Funny movie. And the heterochromatic in the film is much better looking than Max.

Finally saw The Room. It really broke me. Had to stop it a couple of times because it was too much. Phenomenal film.

Suicide Skwad= Hot garbage. Had no focus, no real substance to the plot, no character development. Time to to hit the reset button DC.

Rocky Balboa is in rotation on Showtime this month.  I've seen it before and just watched the last 30 minutes again, if you are a fan of the Rocky movies this was up there with the first one.

Tonight at midnight on Turner Classic Movies (TCM):

Young Frankenstein (1974)

Starring and co-written by Gene Wilder, who died in late August 2016.

Directed by Mel Brooks. Also starring Peter Boyle, Marty Feldman, Cloris Leachman, Teri Garr, Kenneth Mars, Madeline Kahn. It's part of a series of films on TCM that stars Gene Hackman, who has a supporting role.

Mel Brooks will make a live introduction for an Oct 5, 2016 revival of Young Frankenstein at 500 American theaters, to honor Gene Wilder.

"Sully" is worth watching. I saw the rescue from my office, 45th floor, above Times Square. Movie shows exactly what we saw. Yes, I can believe that the two pilots wondered if they had made the right choices, wondered if they had tried every solution, and probably imagined the catastrophe if the plane had stalled over NYC while trying to return to LaGuadia or over NJ if they had tried to land at Teterboro.

Sully and Snowden are on my list.

as a frequent flyer i'm not sure i want to watch it.   But i've heard from several that it was very good, and fairly accurate.  The NTSB report highlighted a few mistakes and the lack of their awareness of the level of damage to the engines to insufficient diagnostic capabilities within the airplane, but the bottom line is that they got everyone down safely.  You can't ask for anything more than that.

The ntsb apparently isn't pleased- they say they never doubted, but they asked the questions that they ask in every investigation, but you need a villain so might as well create one
