He's almost 23. He should know better. He should've known better last year.

If that stupid twit was anywhere near as good as he's billed, he could've been pitching in the bigs right now instead of that pretender, Ballester.

Crow's a kid. These guys are slick pros. They represented Clemens, right? Tells you something right away.

They are done for  Crow figures to make a lot more that that 2 million difference from last year, but living in Ft Worth on indy ball wages couldnt have been fun.

They also represented the most hated Nat, Austin Kearns. Match made in heaven.

Buster Olney reports that the Royals and Aaron Crow are "on the verge of" an agreement.

3-4.5 million dollars, the negotiating range the Nats had him in last year. What a dork.

Even if he beats the $3.5 or so from the Nats last offer, the loss of a year towards arbitration is a bigger cost to his pocket than getting the max on the table.  If he does not get a major league contract out of this, he may have hurt himself even more.

Royals exec refutes claim:

"Apparently Buster Olney knows something we don't know.  There's nothing to report on, there's no confirmed deal or anything. We've picked up the talks with them the last couple of days and that's about it. We're working at it."

It's a deal, per the Royals/mlb.com site: http://kansascity.royals.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090917&content_id=7022346&vkey=news_kc&fext=.jsp&c_id=kc - key quote:

'The club did not disclose terms of the contract, but it was believed the deal was for a guaranteed $3 million plus incentives. Crow will go on the Royals' 40-man roster and be invited to Major League Spring Training next year.'

Guess he was finally willing to take that physical.

Royals signed RHP Aaron Crow to a three-year, $4.5 million deal.
Crow, the 12th overall pick in the 2009 draft, was given a $1.5 million signing bonus and will earn $3 million over the next three seasons (2010-2012) as long as he stays in the major leagues. The 22-year-old has a nice fastball-slider combination, but will need to have a great spring to crack the Royals' starting rotation in 2010. Some scouts believe he's better suited for a bullpen role. apparently he does. Nice to know he got nothing near what the nats were offering in terms of signing bonuses

Per the recently-released 2010 schedule we're getting the Royals into Nationals Park 21st/22nd/23rd June (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday)...would be interesting if he goes against us any of those nights.

I don't think he'll get to the bigs that quickly...

I would bet after the All-Star break in 2011 at the earliest.

 Imagine the steam coming out of his ears every day he's not on the 25 man. The Nats better not start Strasburg against him or he'll get plunked big time.

I honestly don't know if that really is the contract he signed, but if it is he ought to dump the Hendricks cartel ASAP.
