Guzman/Zimmerman/Young: Combined 5/12 (.417)
All other starting hitters: 1/18 (.055)
Pinch hitters: 2/2 (1.000)

Ugh.. Every other team in the NL East won tonight.  We need to win 3 of the next 4 games at home because after that stretch we have a very tough 9 game road trip (3 @ Minnesota, 3 @ Baltimore, 3 @ Toronto).  We will be lucky to come home with 3 wins after that so all the wins we can now get now will help.

I want him gone too but there are simply just not many options at the current time.  Hanrahan got shelled in Columbus tonight and we have no more capable pitchers at AAA. Jim doesn't want to rush any of our prospects that seem to be doing well (Balester, Lannan).  Our wimpy pitchers on the DL just need to get their lazy asses back on the field.

Well guys, that was one of the most crappy games I've seen, and I missed the 1st inning! I swear to G-d, you'd think we were the Yankees or something to play this badly. I really wanted Speigner to have a good game for a change with good run support, but it was not to be. Bowden's Bums will just have to bite the bullet for the rest of the season, or until our starters come off the DL.

This loss wasn't Speigner's fault this time.  There were no errors charged, but Levale had THREE outs in the first inning, with ZERO runs scored, if Logan hadn't watched a catchable fly ball land right in front of him, followed by Church and Guzman trading recipes, instead of catching the easy fly ball that fell between them.  ALL the runs scored because of the no-error fielding flubs, including Zimmerman throwing a ground out to the shortstop area, instead of to 2nd base for a force out.   All of these guys should be outside Simonizing Speigner's car before they go home tonight. That kid needed at least routine help from them.  His fielders actually looked like they were THROWING the game to the Padres because they had bet on San Diego.  They beat themselves tonight.
