OK, consider Batista. Isn't there any relief pitcher in the minors better than Batista? Does Batista ever pitch unless the Nats are ahead or behind by a dozen runs or so?
Meanwhile, Atilano and Martin pitch OK in about two of three starts. Maybe three out of four. Neither hits 90 mph with a fastball. When they have a bad game, it's atrocious.
We need to be rid of all 3 of them and of anyone that fits the same mold if we're ever going to contend for anything except the NL east cellar.
