Why is it just when the starter is in a good rhythm, they take him out!  They did that with Detwiler last night.

They didn't take him out.

I don't question Davey on pulling starters.  He seems to have a sixth sense for when a guy has lost it. After the leadoff walk I'm sure he already knew he was leaving Lannan in to face the lefty then making the change.
