If no one watches, does the game actually count?

Depends on who is counting and what they're counting.

Good season boys.

Who wants to compare our last game lineup to 05-09? I wonder how bad some of the names are.

Good season boys.

When all is said and done (and we go through this every season) the Nats utterly suck and we complain about their level of suckitude and the level of incompetence/cheapness from the ownership/FO and we go at each other all the time (especially early or late in the season or whenever the frustration sets in) but I enjoy the interaction we have here and I enjoy/like/respect the overwhelming majority of the posters here. Hopefully, we'll get 'em next season.    And no doubt we'll be going at it again before long.

Here's to all my WNFF friends.

Let's go, Nats!  69 is a meaningful number... ten more wins than last year.

Also: I really hope they find a replacement for Ray Knight too, he is on the Lerners' balls to such an exaggerated extent that it's starting to prevent me from enjoying the game.

Oh my god stop talking about going after old, fading power hitters when we have a much younger one right here.

Oritz? Really? When's the last time he even played defense.

I'm guessing only Ray Knight could think up something so stupid.

Damn it Livan.

Espinosa looks so, so good on defense.  Please move him to SS.  Please.

Pelfrey has one of the lowest K/9 since the All-Star Break, so of course he looks like Stephen Strasburg against our lineup today.

Why the hell did Willie slide?

I actually agree with Ray on this one.  The play where a tag is likely is actually a good time to slide.  That's such a difficult throw to make that it often pulls the 1B off the bag.  I think that was a good play by Willie.

Statement: Willie Harris should be back next year.  He's a good player to have on your bench.

Discuss.

Counterpoint: he's not as bad as he looked this year, but he's still not very good.  When he's here, Riggleman wants to play him constantly.

Don't want him back because of the temptation (like Guzman). He will be played more than he deserves.

The offensive juggernaut known as Alberto Gonzalez.  I'm transferring this nickname from Boyd Gordon.

Depends on whether we need a lefty pinch hitter 5th OF or a righty.  If your have Bernie, still have Morgan, and bring in Crawford or trade for DeJesus, then Willie really does not serve a purpose.  If it is Willingham / Bernie / Morse, then Willie serves a purpose.

Nyjer Morgan may have the worst arm of any major league center fielder.  There has to be a better CFer out there, there just has to.

Ray, neither Ramos nor Desmond are future all stars.  Stephen Strasburg obviously has the best chance of any 2010 rookies, but I guess he doesn't count for some reason?

This team can't afford to sacrifice a run to get two outs.  Have they paid attention to how many runs they've scored lately?

Nyjer bunts for base hits because the BABIP on bunts is like .350, he doesn't care about power, and he doesn't trust himself to get legitimate base hits anymore.

I've been mindfacting, lately, the notion that Rizzo is so intent on Morgan staying on the roster because he wants to prove that he made a good, positive trade last year...rather than trading our Milledge garbage for Pittsburgh's Morgan garbage.

No other reason makes sense for his devotion to Morgan on this team.  It's certainly not talent.
