Flat-Billed Hat vs Curved Bill Hat
« Topic Start: June 06, 2012, 01:40:47 AM »
So this is a topic me and some co-workers were discussing the other day?

Do you prefer your hat with a curved bill, or a flat bill as you see a lot of young people wearing today?

So basically vs

I figured this would an interesting discussion especially on a baseball forum.

Miss Iowa mmmm..

I go with semi-curved. I only do curved when I'm actually on a team or at a ball game. I do the semi-curved for style. I feel like I can't pull off the flat with the sticker on style... mainly because I feel comfortable with the curved since I've only worn baseball hats like that.

Less about the bill and more about the hat. Authentic hats for me.

Same. I look 12 if I try to go super flat-brim.

I find a flat brim uncomfortable, but I find too much of a curved brim uncomfortable too. So I prefer to buy a flatter one and bend the brim myself to my liking. I think it's easier to do that than it is to flatten out one that was already curved.

What he said.  I find though that the adjustable hats are curved just right!

I always take rubber bands and tie the brim around a paper towel roll when I first get a hat, but I think I'm the extreme

Curved...but not so much that it blocks my peripheral vision.

One of the main reasons I brought this up is because I've seen a lot of 40 year old people coming into my work trying to rock the flat brim with the sticker still on it, and I just think it looks incredibly ridiculous.

But I'm in the curved boat, but like Herndon said I don't want it blocking my peripheral.

Wait, like real 40 year olds?  That's really lame if so.  Besides, didn't that trend die in like 2005 along with 50 Cent's career?

Unfortunately yes. I go to school at Kentucky, but bartend in South Carolina during the summer, and the amount of 40 year olds that come in trying to rock Flatbills/Affliction shirts/Jeans with holes in them is pathetic.

another for the semi-curved. Sometimes the curved is just tooooooooooooooooooooo curved. And I'm not a huge fan of the flat, but The Chief knew how to rock it. I miss him and his High saves percentage.

Agree with a lot of the stuff here. 46yo with kids - I don't think I should be trying to pull off the flat brim look.

But I prefer to buy it flat and give it the curve that I want. I'll see if I can post a pic of what I prefer - as far as hat curves go.

This. People over 30 should not rock the flat brim with the label. It's just trying too hard.

For me, it's average curve. I'm most confortable that way.

I pretty much prefer the curve that the 2nd hat in the OP shows.

Slight to medium curve depending on the hat. My problem is that my head is so damn big I can't find one that fits me right. Seriously, I have a Hagersburg Suns hat that is a size 8... yeah 8 and it's snug on my freakin' melon  Hopefully my head will shrink enough with weight loss that I'll be able to wear a L/XL Flexfit hat again... sigh...
