Interesting stuff SoxFan. I was also reading somewhere that there was issue over having 40000 people come to Wrigley Field for night games.  Apparently the city is unable to handle an influx like that.

Bad play on the Nats catcher's part -- he needs to pay attention to the runner on third.

Cubs 1, Nats 0

That stupid crap cost us a run. Our inability to hold/throw out runners is disturbing.

Bad play by Nieves.  Should have kept the ball in his pocket and we get out of that inning with no runs.  Good pitching by Lannan.

We have some stupid freaking players. We could've been out of that innings unscathed.

At least they stopped showing Debbi Taylor's face as much but still

the only time you see that work is in my son's junior league baseball.  All Nieves had to do was either fake it or throw it to Lannan and he would have had Soriano.
Eitherwise the Emilio has too come in quicker towards homeplate if he sees Soraino coming home.
Another horrible defensive play indicative of terrible coaching.

I don't get that.  I heard the arguments at the time they were debating installing lights.  The White Sox are in a residential neighborhood. They've had those kinds of crowds come into the city at night, and have never had an issue.  The Bears have no problem, same with the Blackhawks and Bulls.  The result has been the neighborhood nightclubs, bars, and restaurants have been doing gang buster business for Cubs night games.

The real problem is that Wrigley is not close to any major highway (US Cellular is by US 94, the Bears on Lake Shore Drive), and there is no parking, so there is a lot more foot traffic over a wider area to get to a Cubs game, and residents get a little skittish.  There is actually more crime in the Wrigleyville area than at around the Cell, depsite the South Side stereotypes.

Santo is the biggest tool in MLB.

What I find unbelievable is how much he's revered by the national media types.  Any time I hear anyone extolling Ron Santo as "refreshing" I lose respect for that person.

I love Mark Patrick of XM175 but he is a big fan of Santo.

Anyone who hasn't watched us all year that watched the first 2 innings of this game can see exactly why we are the worst team in the game.

I read those quotes you posted sportsfan. That kind of crap about the Lerners is rustrating to read, not to mention embarrassing. I wonder if they would allow fans to pay ticket prices a little late.  :?

I agree, but apply it to the entire Cub team and organization.

Yep, it's very disappointing. They'll start to feel it when 50%+ of the season ticket holders fail to re-up.

Does he revere Santo, or does he enjoy mocking him?  They tend to replay Santo's embarrassing moments and mock him.

We had a sports station in Chicago do a "Ron Santo's greatest hits," stringing together his most over the top moments.

Jeez, Lannan has had a tough time throwing strikes over his last 3 starts.

They'll interview him once in a while on Baseball This AM and if they're mocking him then Mark and Buck deserve Oscars for best performance.

Christ.  I struggle listening to Santo.  He's like a more annoying and less intelligent version of John Madden.
