Yeah... JMAX is having a great year against LHP. Not sure where Hammonds got the idea that he wasn't.

.286/.524/.571/1.095 and great defense.

i'm one of maxy's bigger fans on here.  but face it ... they aren't going to let him play everyday.  i love how he has more walks than more k's and he's a better defender than bernie ... but he's just not getting in the line-up everyday which is hurting him.

Did you see the stats I posted? Who cares about him playing everyday... he's doing exactly what he's supposed to be doing.

Is JMax getting it done against LHP? Yes or no?

There's nothing wrong with platooning if the left handed side held up their part of the deal.

I'd much rather have a platoon of .280/.380/.450/.830 over one hitter that goes .260/.340/.400/.740

we don't even have a RF that's hitting .260

I wonder what it would take to wrangle JJ away from the fish.

And I'll say it again ... platoon isn't an ideal situation right now.  I'd let Maxy play everyday, imo.

while I think eventually Willie will put up his .255 / .365 / .410 line v. Righties this year if given a chance (that's about what he's done the past three years over 1000 PAs), J-Max did not show much of a platoon split in the minors. If he is clubbing the heck out of lefties, looking OK against righty relievers, and neither Willie not Bernie pan out, then let him take the job away.

Maxwell is a high pick and a valuable piece. Then again they might be showcasing Willie for a package deal. Rizzo will pull something out of left field to spark this team that will be the opposite of the Preston Wilson deal.

He signed a long term deal with them so I assume they want to keep him.

Love those brittle maple bats.  A broken bat must drive a baseball further.
