How the heck did you pull this up?  Cool fact.

I knew about Shore's outstanding effort and thought of it when I saw the query here, but I didn't know how the opposing pitcher did. I figured back then most pitchers tended to throw complete games, though, so I searched for a box score and found one from the Boston Globe. It didn't include the pitching lines, but it showed that the Senators pinch-hit for their starting pitcher in the 9th, and since they were the home team that means he must have thrown a complete game.

Looks like I'm eating Papa John's for dinner tomorrow.  #NATS50

Half price tomorrow, including all toppings, when Nationals score 5 or more runs.
All season long promotion!

It might be the beer or it might be other factors of good news, but this team gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

There was an old man in an Expos jersey behind home plate today. I hope the team made him proud. He seemed sad though, even during the LaRouche home run.

Great win tonight. Just awesome. Hopefully Wang can muster together a solid start tomorrow. Maybe 6 innings of 3 run baseball? That'll at least give us a shot I think. The Toronto bullpen should be pretty taxed so I think we have a solid shot.

In his last start vs Mets, Wang gave up 2 runs in 5.1 innins, if he can repeat that, I am happy.

You have the censors on.  They censor the "b" word that means a female dog to "nag."  When someone posts the plural form, it only knows to censor the 5 letters to "nag" and keeps the "es" on the end.

When the 4 letter "c" word for a male chicken was censored into "lolipop" it would turn the name of former Nationals - now Oakland - farm hand into "Brad Pealolipop" :lmao:

Hmm. On my phone it says nages... And I don't have it censored. Weird.

Edit... Ah. Only the quote says nages. Got it.

Oh, yeah, when someone that has censors on quotes someone, it stays censored in their quote when they post it.

i had no idea you could turn the censors off, but i find the replacement cuss words to be pretty funny. something about the image of a drunk baseball fan screaming "freaking jerk" at the tv makes me laugh.

Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their 36th win, each season:

2012 - 11th June (59th match of season)
2005 - 11th June (62nd match)
2011 - 21st June (73rd match)
2010 - 3rd July (82nd match)
2006 - 3rd July (84th match)
2007 - 8th July (88th match)
2008 - 11th July (94th match)
2009 - 5th August (108th match)

---

THIS DAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: Another day, another win on Saturday 11th June 2005 - 2-1 over Mariners at RFK for their ninth straight; Patterson (oh what might have been) out-duelled Putz, Cordero with his 18th save, and Guillen wins it in the 7th with a bases-loaded single...and total attendance cracks the million mark...record now 36-26: http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250611120

The old (pre-2009) official Washington Capitals boards used to have some word filters that could be uproarious: the aforementioned '4-letter c-word' would come out either 'jeffrey' or 'heyho'...the four letter 's' word at one time came out 'fish'...'crap' would come out 'candy corn'...among many others.
