Peavy retires the side with strikeout #5 in only three innings.

The winning strategy for this game is obvious...  Church needs to homer.

or Kearns.

or both of them.

anybody remember the last time Lopez got a hit with 0 outs - or even one out? just curious. which is why i think that when Guz comes back, maybe he sits for a while and we let Belliard lead off and play 2nd

Charlie says that last pitch by Patterson got to 90mph.  That's a great sign if true.

Well they did say the ball doesn't carry in California at night...  maybe Patterson knew that and was taking his chances.

Okay Chiefy, what on earth is Chad doing in that avatar photo?
Was he
1) Signaling for aliens to land and pick him up (to return home)?
2) Trying to get a walk by making the pitcher feel sorry for him, because he's retarded?
3) Charging the mound to start a well-armed fight?

Chad Cordero,
Reading his glove's mind
to decide the next pitch

And now Sledge homers.. JP's 88 mph fastball isn't fooling too many hitters

Should have kept Sledge.

NOT.

Seriously, just because a former 'roids user hits one solo shot against a recovering Patterson, we should have kept him?

JP slams his hand into his glove.. He knows that giving up that 1 run essentially cost the team the game much like when Bergmann gave up the HR to Beltran yesterday...

He's ducking out of the way of a pitch that was almost behind him.

Belliard is a monster, we have got to find a way to keep him in the lineup.
