Desmond always gives Debbi awkward interviews. I don't think he's a fan of hers.

Mets post-game: "It's all about Livan...no surprises...he's done this forever...and this [batter misses breaking pitch]" etc.

Phil Wood brings up Connie Marrero as a junk pitcher who lasted well into his 40's, and Livan reveals that it was Marrero who taught Livan the screwball.

I liked Bang Zoom better, I know they cost more money than an air horn, but the fireworks need to come back

The guy that sat beyond me last night might be the only person I would say is not a fan. I have no idea why he was even at the game. I think he expected the Nats to bat around every inning and for Livo to throw a no-hitter. He acted like he had been at the park a good deal, but he left in the sixth inning and was there with his daughter and her friend but didn't sit with them. He treated Werth like a guy he is ready to stalk and kidnap his kids. The Nats were leading when he left and Livan was pitching like Livan, but he still yelled for the entire section to hear, "I have seen enough of this crap." He even threatened to leave his daughter at the park when she wanted to go back to her seats because she left her ID there. I know Linty and PC and even myself are very negative in game threads, but we all cheer on the Nats and I doubt they would leave a game early that the Nats were winning.

Pretty nice weather too, although the weather we had earlier in the day probably played some part in keeping walk-up sales down. Should be nice throughout the Giants series too, except for the possibility of thunderstorms at the Monday finale.

Sadly, for whatever reason (Nats' poor play, weather, Caps conflicts), people are just staying home in droves - 15,142 announced attendance yesterday (second-lowest Thursday turn-out in Nats Park history, missing record by 509).

Also, for the second consecutive evening, they moved the Huntington-bound Yellow line Metrorail trans over to the other platform for no announced reason - caused a fairly dangerous stampede to get to the other side (they announced the single-tracking just as the train was starting to pull in). I fired off an E-mail to Metro earlier this morning asking just what gives - response currently being awaited.

I think people have stopped paying attention. I bet if you asked most casual sports fans in the area what the Nats record was they would ask if they had won a game, and would be convinced this team is well on their way to another 100 loss season.

Not sure why I like this ongoing comparison  .... I guess I see improvement in the team and that's a good thing.
