Really? I think Espinosa could bust out fairly easily with the hamate injury.

When you have as big of a swing as he does... and your power is drained, you could be looking at a .200/.290/.330 line that gets him sent back to AAA.

2012 should be a good year for him, though.

I was very encouraged by this part of Kilgore's feature on Espinosa.

When doctors diagnosed Espinosa's injury, they discovered he had broken the bone two years ago. It had healed on its own, then broken again, then steadily deteriorated. Espinosa didn't realize it, but he played two seasons with a faulty bone in his hand. The grip strength in his right hand, he said, already exceeds his left hand.
