He does not discuss the reality that if Harper goes back to school another year, and is again drafted #1, it would likely be by a team that will NOT pay him anywhere near what he would hope to get from the Nats. The Astros, Orioles, or Pirates simply aren't going to break the bank.
This is why I think he will sign with us this year, and not to mention that it doesn't hurt having the opportunity to catch StrasJesus while you're here. The FO has experience in dealing with Boras, so I think we'll get this done in the same fashion as with Strasburg last year.
Also everyone last year was saying Stras would get crazy Dice-K type money, but it didn't happen and wasn't even close. While I expect Harper to set a record signing bonus and contract I don't see it getting north of $20 million, far from Chapman type of money.
