What does a slap bet have to do with a cage? I nominate myself as Slap Bet Commissioner
Holy crap, Thom and Sheehin are basically admitting that RGIII was a mistake- both say that they would prefer to have wilson (third round) or kapernick (second round) than Griffen (3 number 1s and a 2) That happend faster than I expected
They are idiots. Even if the draft where held again today, the top two would go exactly as they did last year. RGIII has turned around the D.C. franchise and will be an impact player for years to come.
Hindsight is convenient. I'm sure Redskins fans would be happy with Brandon Ween right now.
Well... they didn't end up with that conclusion. They used the typical sports talkers' trick of overstating a case, then coming back around.
Congrats to RGIII for winning Rookie of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Maybe he, Sam Bradford, and Vince Young can get together and talk about the glory days of the Big 12 now.
Where is that troll repellent spray I bought....
Get ready for my upcoming paper called "Big 12 QBs - Better to burn out than to fade away: a case study in NFL draft busts and disappointments".
did they also win the not quite official ROY?
Oh, it says "Apply repeatedly for best results" on the back of the can...
Hey now, who hooks you up with tickets and keeps Blue from junk punching you?
similar numbers to wilson and all it cost was an extra three first rounders. When hall (worst coverage corner in football) comes back, or random guy starts at safety, or Polumbus is the starting RT, next year, two of the first round picks we gave up could have been used to fill holes. Griffen may be better (I think he is), but the cost to get him is starting to look ridiculous
Obviously the amount given up is going to suck when the drafts come around... but it was clearly the right choice. I doubt Wilson, Kaepernick, or any of the other guys we should've selected will be as consistent as RGIII will be.
maybe, but he's up a knee reconstruction on both of them as of today
Sure. But any one of them could've been in this situation. I'd still take him next year over the other two after what he did this season.
I'll take them since there is a much better chance of them being 100% for the whole season.
In a similar situation, sort of, would you take Chris Sale (or any other successful young starter) for a year over a rehabbing Stephen Strasburg? And the way I'm looking at it is for the entire career rather than just one season.
