So you have 10 rain-outs that we don't make-up, or do you advocate shortening the season?

Get ready for a 2013-like experience.  This team might have gotten to 90 wins if fully healthy, but Strasburg's total B*tch tendencies, Harper falling all over himself like an oaf in the OF, and now Span and Werth's issues we're in big, big trouble.  An borderline decent lineup is now eviscerated.  We'll be bottom 5 in mlb in runs until we get healthy (which is unlikely), and even then will still struggle.  Won't have to worry about our collective arsewholes clenching in the playoffs, because we won't make the playoffs.  The Fish will win the division and the WCs will be the Pirates and Padres.  Get ready for the pain DC, its going to be a loooooong summer.

Wins: 91
Losses: 71
NL East Standing: 1st
Final Playoff Finish: Same place we've always finished.

HR Leader and #: Tie between Harper and Desmond, 25
RBI Leader and #: Zimmerman, 90
Runs Leader and #: Rendon, 94
Average Leader and #: Rendon, .285
SB Leader and #: Span, 19

Wins Leader and #: Zimmermann, 16 (LOL like that bullpen's allowing many wins)
Saves Leader and #: Storen, 38 (but still sucks)
Holds Leader and #: Who cares
ERA Leader and # : Zimmermann, 2.50
K Leader and # Strasburg, 220

Team MVP: Rendon
Post-season Awards: ???
Team All-Star(s): Not that All-Star really means much, but: Scherzer, Strasburg, Harper

Opening Day Bullpen: Stammen, Storen, Blevins, Treinen, Roark, Thornton, Barrett

Who finishes the year at 2B? Escobar plays the last game, but the entire position is a black hole the whole season.

Who finishes the year at Closer? Storen undeservedly.

Predict number of games Danny Espinosa plays at the major league level: Any number of games at the major league level is too many for him, but ~70.

Where does Bryce Harper finish in the MVP balloting? Too low to even be noteworthy.

Does Strasburg get through the season? Yes.

Do we extend Desmond? Try to but are thankfully outbid by a team making a grave mistake.

Does Ryan Zimmerman play more than 130 games? He couldn't even play that number of games in MLB The Show.

Is Casey Janssen the eighth inning guy at season's end? No.

Which player massively over-performs? Tyler Moore.

Which player massively under-performs? Span

Predict a trade: Barrett gets traded for some sort of prospect to clear room.

Bonus Prediction: (make one up) Michael Taylor plays a decent amount and shows enough that he should be playing/learning at the MLB level.

So I checked my last year predictions and some were pretty close. I'll give it another go:

Wins: 91
Losses: 71
NL East Standing: 1st (Marlins hang tough all year and finish with 88)
Final Playoff Finish: Lose NLCS

HR Leader and #: Harper/26
RBI Leader and #: Zimmerman/92
Runs Leader and #: Rendon/95
Average Leader and #: Werth/.292
SB Leader and #: Taylor/27

Wins Leader and #: Scherzer/18
Saves Leader and #: Storen/35
Holds Leader and #: Thornton/23
ERA Leader and #: Fister/2.53
K Leader and #: Scherzer/251

Team MVP: Werth
Post-season Awards: Harper SS
Team All-Star(s): Harper

Opening Day Bullpen: Storen, Thornton, Barrett, Stammen, Blevins Cedeno, Treinen, Roark

Who finishes the year at 2B? Escobar Uggla

Who finishes the year at Closer? Storen

Predict number of games Danny Espinosa plays at the major league level: 95

Where does Bryce Harper finish in the MVP balloting? 7th

Does Strasburg get through the season? Yes

Do we extend Desmond? No

Does Ryan Zimmerman play more than 130 games? No, exactly 130

Is Casey Janssen the eighth inning guy at season's end? No, Treinen

Which player massively over-performs? Ian Stewart (starts OD at 3B) Uggla

Which player massively under-performs? Span

Predict a trade: Tyler Moore to SF for cash

Bonus Prediction: Span doesn't return until June but never gets it going and goes back on the DL in July during the ASB, Taylor returns and finishes the season as the everyday CF batting a somewhat respectable .257/.318/.419 with 15 homers and 27 steals. McLouth doesn't get healthy by the ASB and is released with Tony Gwynn Jr. staying on the roster but only hitting .230/.280/.300 den Dekker replacing him on the roster, Uggla platoons with Escobar as Escobar is the late inning defensive replacement.

RBI Leader and #: Desmond: 95
Runs Leader and #: Desmond: 90
Average Leader and #: Rendon: .318 (in 400 PA)
SB Leader and #: Span: 28

Wins Leader and #: Zimmermann: 18
Saves Leader and #: Storen: 27
Holds Leader and # Stammen: 30
ERA Leader and # : Zimmermann: 2.75
K Leader and # Strasburg: 197

Team MVP: Desmond
Post-season Awards: Desmond: Silver Slugger, Rendon: Silver Slugger (assumes he's eligible)
Team All-Star(s): Desmond, Scherzer, Zimmermann

Opening Day Bullpen: Storen (CL), Janssen (set-up, if not injured), Stammen (set-up), Thornton, Treinen (bad ass)

Who finishes the year at 2B? The Ghost of Jeff Kent.  Probably Escobar.

Who finishes the year at Closer? Anybody but Drew Storen

Predict number of games Danny Espinosa plays at the major league level: 87, mostly in an utility role.

Where does Bryce Harper finish in the MVP balloting? Not even on the list.  Begins his descent into JD Drew land with DL stints, strikeout binges, and meltdowns

Does Strasburg get through the season? Yes and he's very solid with few temper tantrums or crybaby sessions

Do we extend Desmond? Yes, but it's not a $100M+ deal

Does Ryan Zimmerman play more than 130 games? No, he suffers a strain in early May trying to scoop a badly thrown ball and misses various parts of the season before needing surgery.  Continues looking like a hounddog in the process.

Is Casey Janssen the eighth inning guy at season's end? No, Stammen, when he's not being GQ, gets the call and becomes the eighth inning holds guy in the NL.

Which player massively over-performs? Desmond.  It's a walk year and he wants to get paid and he's 29 so he's going to have the power to get someone to overpay him.

Which player massively under-performs? Harper.  His struggles against breaking pitches and lefties gets worse and he starts too look like a bust.  His attitude starts to deteriorate to the point he becomes a punchline in the media.

Predict a trade: Rizzo trades Jordan Zimmermann for a treasure trove of prospects and a Cody Ross style sparkplug at the trade deadline.

Bonus Prediction 1: Dan Uggla gets some starts and stays on the bench to see if his eyes problems are really behind him.

Bonus Prediction 2: Rizzo starts talking more about the "beefcake" in the locker room and gets caught leaving the Manhole in Chicago during a road trip dressed in full leather.

Bonus Prediction 3: Matt Williams continues his dumb ass "winning breeds winning/we are who we are" speak and looks like a total buffoon when Bud Black outmanages him when the Padres come to town.

Bonus Prediction 4: In an interview after the All-Star break Strasburg has a breakdown and starts talking about Jesus visiting him in San Diego telling him to throw nothing but fastballs to dead red hitters.  He's put on the Disabled List and goes to see Creflo Dollar for guidance and counselling.

Bonus Prediction 5: During a bench clearing brawl against the Phillies Dan Uggla makes the case for a 3 WAR season when he pounds Cole Hamels like a prison snitch during a chow how riot after beaning Denard Span in the head.

Bonus Prediction 6: Desmond, after signing a $80M extension, buys a new construction house in Ashburn and declares himself King of Ashburn upsetting Sportsfan and the rest of the Junkies P1s.

So we're trading him before the deadline?
