I'm astonished by the 8 hits Phillies have, but more horrified that the Nats have only two hits, and that their only runs came on a 2-run HR.

FP on Ramos:

Quote
He's not going to get a lot of infield hits

It was only a moment later that Ramos beats out a chopper to 3rd.    :lmao:

Desmond is awful. Just plain disgraceful. Looks like he doesn't give a crap. Two times tonight he has taken fastballs down the middle for strike 3.

Werth watches yet ANOTHER 3rd strike over the middle of the plate.

Time for somebody else to say he's not hitting due to lack of the mythical "protection".

Lannan with another shutdown inning.  One more and he's in "quality start" territory.

If he was being pitched around due to lack of protection, he wouldn't be getting fat meatballs down the middle of the plate, time after time.  The truth is, nobody's pitching around him, they're just ramming it down his throat.

there are a lot of useless stats in baseball, "quality start" really has to take the cake

I'll bet there is a direct correlation between the outcome of Nationals games and the number of strike outs looking.  Not strike outs but strike outs looking, specifically.
