Hey ronnynat what the hell happened in the Argentina/Greece game? The Greek goalie was fantastic and kept the game 0-0 when I ran out to walk my dogs late in the game and came back a few minutes later and Argentina had scored a deuce.

Guz really is an all-out baserunner.

Guzman is a good baserunner.

That's what they do. It was a good game. Greece had their chances, though. Hopefully Argentina and Spain play each other at some point.

I've always liked Pelfrey. I think Niese and Dickey are trash though.

Must've missed their chances because I recall at one point the announcer said Argentina was on "offense" over 75% of the time.

What are they doing with Maine?

Just read this on ESPN:

Quote
Maine (shoulder) will not be evaluated as expected on Monday, Steve Popper of the Bergen Record reports.

Maine's velocity has been way down during his rehab, indicating that his injury could be more severe. And, the Mets apparently feel they don't have a place for him on their roster, so he has remained in limbo for the past couple days. We'll see if both sides can rectify the situation over the next couple days.

The same dude (forget his name) could have scored twice for them. Argentina definitely owned TOP, though.

No he hasn't.  He's lagging in his power numbers, but that was expected.  Everything else is about at his career average and his defense has been solid.  He provides protection for Wright that hasn't been there consistently in a while.

Yes, I meant Pelfrey not Maine.

Just read this on ESPN:

He lost a lot of weight.  When he pitched against the Nationals I thought he looked physically ill.

Bay is doing everything the same as before except hitting HRs.  That explains the .100+ drop in OPS.  Everything else matches up with his career averages and is in line with his last 2 years.

3rd   R Zimmerman doubled to left, C Guzman scored.   0   1

Royals      0
Nationals  1

ROYALS RIGHTFIELDER JOSE GUILLEN SINGLED IN THE TOP OF THE SECOND INNING TO EXTEND HIS HITTING STREAK TO 17 GAMES.

There was a thunderstorm and heavy rain in Montgomery County MD a few minutes ago.  Lasted 10 minutes...

They'll probably release him.

That was close to being one of the baddest plays Zimmerman has ever made.

Seeing he is from the area, the Nats should take a chance on him.  I don't think he would cost much.

I've always liked Pelfrey. I think Niese and Dickey are trash though.

You think Niese, a 23 year old lefty who had 5 solid starts last year, is trash?  His WHIP is a bit high (1.43) mostly due to a BABIP that is about .030 over league average.  That's the biggest negative I can find.  Do you have even the slightest bit of supporting evidence for that or is it right up there with the Jason Bay has been horrible nonsense?
