Jerome Williams is a hardcore bum.

The Lerner family couldn't invest any money in some damn pitching??? >:(

Apparently it's not possible to rebuild the farm system for the future and remain somewhat competitive in the here and now.

How come our pitchers frequently have horrible outings (Like Chico's or Jerome's) but we almost never make it difficult for the opposing starting pitcher?? Even when we win, we never knock out the opposing pitcher early or make them throw a lot of pitches.

Marlins 10
Nationals Zippo!

I don't think Matt Chico will be a career minor leaguer.  I think the only reason he made the roster was because he's a lefty.  He never pitched above AA, so I didn't think he was ready for MLB yet.  WAY too many walks and a MLB starter should be able to pitch 6 innings...

Matt Chico 2007
Date   Opp   W   L   SV   IP   HA   ER   BBA   SO

04/04   FLA   0   0   0   4.0   8     6     0     3
04/10   ATL   0   1   0   4.2   6     1     3     3
04/16   ATL   1   0   0   5.0   4     1     5     0
04/21   FLA   0   1   0   4.2   6     5     7     6

I actually think we look worse. After both of those great extra inning wins, we have gone on to lose the next game.  Don and Bob keep saying that those type of wins will spark the team to keep playing good ball but it is having the adverse effect on this team.  We aren't hitting, pitching, or playing defense.  When you don't do any of those things, you will lose nearly every game.  Before these two games we were pitching pretty well and playing solid D but all of that is out the door now.

His career stats don't reflect someone who REEKS like this.  Horrible that he STARTS with a slump.  I noticed through Fantasy play that LOTS of teams have horrible BA's from their bench players.  Hopefully Nick Johnson will come back, and Guzman was hitting over .400 in spring training. Imagine Jiminez gone and Dmitri Young PINCH-HITTING instead!  It's a long season.  We'll get better, but the Marlins WON'T.

How do you figure? I figure that we will get worse and Florida will only improve.  They will be getting stud pitcher Josh Johnson back in a few months and that should make a big impact.  These last 2 games are probably a microcosm of how our season is going to go.

Nice to see Chad getting his ass kicked once again.  Wilson with 2 errors in one inning.

The Marlins were 1-8 until they won yesterday.  New manager who may not know what he's doing.  We make everyone look better than they really are.

Chad gives up another homer.  To UGGLA, for his 2nd home run.  I benched Zimmerman and started Uggla against Senators2005.  Nats lead MLB with 20 errors.  This team should hold fielding drills EVERY SINGLE DAY until we see improvement!

At this point, Cordero is just of no use to us.
