Yes, the pipe is underwater, which is why I said from the from the point of discharge.  that's where you have to meet water quality standards.

For MDS's sake, we'll let him think the mention of a pipe has something to do with drug paraphernalia

Clue me in - I thought solid back wheels were for racing time trials.  wouldn't a cross wind be a b!tch with that set up?

That's just me clowning on the needledicks I see on the bike path riding Cervelos decked out in "sponsorship" jerseys.   By the way, a free brew on me to the first person that figures out this reference:

Holy god did I pick the wrong week to start biking to work with all of my gear with me.  The wind was so strong on the ride home I literally almost got blown off of the 395 South bike path.  Serious, serious workout (my shoes are soaked with sweat) but I feel better than I ever have in my entire life.  I did, however, have a little snack to calm the blood sugar (280 calorie Cherry Garcia bar) but I'm hitting the weights in an hour, time for more water.

No no no, you got it all wrong, you lose weight by NOT drinking water!!!  Remember the eminent physiologist on the forum educated us about that months ago in a different thread.

I'd sell you mine for $50 but not headed your way anytime soon.

You could drop it off at my house ;)

So, it looks like my cycling last week paid off - dropped four pounds last week.  Had to take this week off from everything (no weights, no cycling, no exercise) but I'm back to business as usual on Monday.

Finally broke down and bought a bike computer (wireless Cateye, total bad ass little tool).  We managed to bike 15 miles today (over to the stadium, around the Yards Park, and back to Crystal City) in about 90 minutes (10 mph pace).  Call Rizzo - we're ready for the home opener!

The best thing about those is the odometer...there should be a decent celebration for every major milestone (1k, 5k, 10k, etc).

When it hits 1K I'm going to get a jersey (cycling, throwback Barkley, Nasty Nats).  At the 10K mark I'm going to get a Trek Madone, Mystic tan, and a brief Speedo®.

Don't forget Beach Drive in Rock Creek Park which is closed on weekends, great ride up to the Md line all uphill, then back downhill return trip.

I love this route. :woop: Nothing like looping up the Capital Crescent Trail and returning via Beach Road.

CCT wasn't open back when I was riding that area, but of course it's always better to do a loop than an out and back.  Sounds like a great option for MDS.

This should give an idea of the route.
http://www.trimbleoutdoors.com/ViewTrip/195452

I do it a little differently. I use the Metropolitan Branch Trail from my house to the Mall, cut across the mall, follow the river up and onto the CCT. On the way back I cut over to the MBT. Easy enough to reverse it or change around if you are coming from someplace else.

Granted I have my winter hibernation weight so I suspect I will need to work up to it again. :?

My old regular loop was starting in Shirlington on the 4 mile run trail, continue west to the Custis trail, take that over the roller coaster ride down along 66 to Roosevelt Island, then Mount Vernon Trail back to the start of the 4 Mile Run trail just past National Airport.

If I can keep the inflammation under control I'm going to try a pretty long ride (~30 miles) next Saturday morning.  By the way, I'm about to finally launch TourdefreakYou.com today.  Get excited.
