He got out of it without any more damage at least.

That's okay, you know Uggla will always boost the confidence of any pitcher.

LaRoche at 2nd.  Ramos at first.

Let's guess...no double steal?

given it's spring williams should have called for it just to see the look on Freddy's face.

I can't get this at work.  Can you tell me, are they playing the right way?

But wait, isn't it the Yanks now who are having to play the right way?

I have a very real fear that, where it could have been a separating strength, our #5 starter position is actually going to be a distinct weakness.   And a weak #5 is a REAL weakness.

Desmond's homer makes him 3 for 3 today.

Does any team have a really strong #5 pitcher?

Really the only important thing is how "The Captain" is doing.

We could have...

But that's the point.  If every team's #5 pitcher stinks then a separator is a team that has a good #5 pitcher.  It's where you can make the biggest difference among your starters.

I still think we are going to be OK.  Det was experimenting with pitches yesterday, let's see how his next outing goes.  Jordan has had one bad inning out of the 4 (I think) he's pitched, and even then he got out of a major jam (I saw it was 1st and 3rd, nobody out).  And Roark has, of course, looked solid.  Let's see how it plays out over the next couple of weeks.

So I'm listening to the Braves broadcast and they're actually pretty good - I'm really quite surprised by that

You are already over-reacting and it's ST.  If Detwiler harnesses his curveball (which looked good sans a bit of location which should come as ST continues) and mixes in the cutter he has been working on, he probably fits out quite well as a number 5.  There aren't many other teams that have the depth in two other guys totally capable of filling that spot in Roark and Jordan as well.  I don't think the number 5 spot will be an issue.

So Williams bring 5 infielders in to try to stop the Braves from scoring but he wouldn't bunt yesterday with runners on first and second, no outs, late in the game?

Storen was bad and Ayala was worse.

Storen and Ayala :spaz:

Our bullpen may be another liability if this keeps up. Clippard can't be the only trustworthy guy to go to.

And it's over in a particularly ugly fashion.
