Kevin Love plays 37 minutes tonight and the TWolves play their best game of the year.  Some serious home calls cost them down the stretch.  Klove went for 23 points, 24 boards, and 5 dimes.  I'm sure it was just a coincidence that they played their best game when he got the most minutes he's had this season.

No one.  He actually picked a random name hoping no one would check to see if someone named Flowers played here.

Flowers is an old board meme, he was referring to Jesus Flores.

Gotcha, thanks.  Guess I'm not around enough to pick up on all the little nuances and inside references.

Lakers/Nuggets is fantastic right now.  101-100 Nuggets with 6+ remaining.

Lakers finally have to go on the road.  Seems as if every single year they have this monster front loaded schedule that lets them pull away from the West and get the #1 seed.

Lakers final lose the first time they face a contender.  Figures.

Also, I think the NBA scheduling might have backfired a little... they shouldn't have had the Heat playing all these good teams at the beginning of the season, it's the reason they're 5-4.  It's hilarious, don't get me wrong, but it will only delay the inevitable 10+ game winning streak against crappy teams.

Love goes for 31-31 tonight... as in, 31 points, 31 rebounds.

Fans complained about Rambis not playing Love enough.  Was averaging 16.6/12.8 in 23.8 min/g.  Rambis gives him 41 minutes and he does this (and has 5 assists and 1 block).  First 30 rebound game since Barkley.

Same thing with Beasley.  He was putting up 18.1/5.3 in 29.1 min/g and pops 35/6 plus 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 block in 41 minutes.

Clearly Love does not deserve starting minutes.

Kevin Love is one of the worst defenders in the game... his basic stats don't tell the whole story.  Rambis IS the worst coach in the game, but not because he doesn't play Love enough.

Nice call.

Lakers lost again, this time to the Suns and at home. And the Suns scored the second most three pointers in NBA history, 22. Their ridiculous schedule definitely helped them... Good old "balanced" scheduling at it's best. No freaking way should that team have been 8-0.

Rebounding is only one aspect of defense.  Nowhere did I deny that Love is a superb rebounder.  The problem is that he abandons his defensive assignment to focus on rebounding, even going to the extent of boxing his own teammates out.  Overall, that lessens his contribution to the game.  His talent compensates for that somewhat, but not enough that I don't understand Rambis not wanting him to get a ton of minutes per game (though obviously after his 31/31 night that's not going to happen).

Jesus.

He is a 40 year old man. In his case, 40 is the new 125.

The NBA record for fewest games played by a #1 overall pick in the first 4 years of a career is currently 154 by Chris Webber.  Once this season is over Oden smashes that record with 82 games played in his first 4 seasons.

You would think someone in Portland would learn to take the runaway best scorer in the draft over a big man with injury problems eventually.

With Portland's luck if they had drafted Michael Jordan he would have died in a car crash in 1985.  The team's cursed.

I loved Oden in college.

Seemed like a nice kid, too.

Read an article about him once saying how he didn't even want to play basketball growing up, he wanted to be a dentist. How many NBA guys are you going to find that wanted to be a dentist growing up?

An article about Delonte West's first game back and his probation / house arrest.  Talks about his counselling at risk kids in Southeast as part of his probation.

Can you find and relate the numbers on Sam Bowie?
