How long will they keep him w/ Columbus do you think?

Judging from the 3 innings he hurled tonight and the fact that he is in Columbus I would say he'd have two more starts maybe three and he'll be back with the parent club (provided he doesn't suffer another setback).

Should have been out of this inning twice with just a solo shot ... defense is letting Bascik down here ..

And of course Young/Zimmerman's stupid errors cost us.. Bacsik is indeed horrible though.  His first few starts were just a major fluke.  His last few outings have been representative of his entire career

This is why he will have to be dealt to an AL team while he has value to us for the long haul. Our defense just gave them 2 extra outs which resulted in 2 extra runs. But the pitcher has to be able to pick up his team and get out of it from time to time.

Didn't Sutton or Carpenter say this ump does this about once per game? No slip up, a F/U

in that case, ok, you got that one!  I'm not going to argue one bit.  He needs to go back to the minors!

That's a shame ... 2 runs that shouldn't be on the boards and a jacked up pitch count - the bullpen is going to get a workout today

Bacsik just sucks.. How do you give up a HR to the #8 hitter?  Bergmann can't come back soon enough

My hope is that Bacsik keeps us in this game and at least gives us a quality start, but he's at 83 pitches.  He's the most likely pitcher to get sent back to AAA when somebody comes back, but another club could offer a trade to get him, if he can hang in there.  There are worse pitchers around MLB and I'm not sure Bacsik's ever going to get any better in the minors.  So let's trade him.

Nationals 0
Blue Jays 3

Bascik is not that guy - he's a contact pitcher, like Speigner, he has to rely on his defense to pick HIM up - you can't give a Major league team 5 outs in an inning - it inevitably comes back to bite you -

For more good news from the farm, Ayala pitched a scoreless inning in relief of Bergmann allowing one walk. Fruto had one inning of work and gave up one earned run. Watson extended his hitting streak to 41 and is one shy of the record.

That would've scored a run if not for the DP.

Thanks alot Church.. He cost us at least a run.  It doesn't help when you have two helpless hitters in your lineup

I think I may have spotted him with a couple guys his age around the time the umpire lost track of the count.
