Wow! They took Correa, stunning! I do love the pick though, huge upside.

Luhnow staking his reputation on the line with this pick. I like it, Buxton is a big question mark to me and Appel looks very solid but Correa has more upside.

Wow. Gutsy. I like it.

Poor Mark Appel. Being a Twin is scarier than being an Astro at this point.

MLB's draft tracker sucks ass.  It's more of a player tracker, it doesn't update picks.

I would think long and hard about Giolito at 16. While the obvious assumption is it'd take our whole allotment to sign him, that's not necessarily true. With the draft slotting, there's no guarantee he gets a lot more in 2/3 years. Its one thing to be able to sign for $3mill when you fall into the 20's, but still are a bit raw and projectable, like an Alex Meyer. With the restrictions now, Giolito HAS to be a top 5 pick for it to be worth it. If he still has great stuff but hasn't developed quite as expected, or god forbid he gets hurt, and he slides out of the top 10, he'd get comparable to the money we'd offer this year at 16. I know the kids expectation would be that he is the #1 pick in 2 or 3 years, but it doesn't happen to everyone. If he's got an offer of $2mill now, that may be hard to turn down.

Im definitely not as down on Marrero as the rest. The guy can field with the best of them, and he'll be a solid situational hitter probably. Probabaly a Scutaro type with better range and speed on the bases. Id think that would be his floor. Thats not a superstar, but still a guy that can help a ball club. It'd help make our staff a little bit better, and if Harper and Rendon live up to the hype and team with Zimmerman, we have our middle of the order guys lined up. Not every first rounder makes the bigs, let alone becomes an all star or middle of the order guy. In the middle of the round, if you get a solid starter at a key position like SS, I think its worth it.

Definitely in favor of an HSer though. We didnt select many HSers last year, and we need some legit talent that can create a balance of talent in our system.

Buxton is my top guy in the draft, but Correa is probably #2. Have to give the Astros credit for going with their guy, instead of taking the safe, quick to the bigs guy in Appel.

Guessing Seattle passes on Appel. So many pitchers already in the system... unless they feel like there's not a better bat there.

Appel to the Birds?

will the m's go with appel or zunino?  i consider appel the better player but they have loads of pitching prospects and could use more offense.

Taking the bats instead of the arms is the smart way to go.

Yea, my guess is that Seattle still goes with Zunino, though the last time they went catcher at #3, Jeff Clement didn't work out so well.

Buxton has bust written all over him to me. We shall see.

Will the Mariners take Appel? They almost have too despite wealth of pitching prospects. Zunino may be their guy.
