Looking at the last ten games there, he does seem to give up quite a few hits per outing.

He's struggled a little bit, and his ERA is up to 3.44.
Yeah, last ten starts don't looks so good.

From hardball Times on 8/21:

Quote
Mid-level prospects are supposed to provide depth for an organization, insurance in case of injury, and in many cases, trade bait for major league pieces, as evidenced by the case of Brad Peacock, whod eveliped so well he became worth acquiring for the A's. The Nationals were hoping for similar development from players like Robbie Ray and Danny Rosenbaum, but the 2012 season has had other ideas.

...

Rosenbaum hasn't had as bad of a season at first glance, with a 3.73 ERA in Double-A Harrisburg to his name, but his strike out numbers have dipped to dangerously low levels this season. Rosenbaum has never been a strikeout pitcher, nor should he try to be, but players who only strike out 5.7 batters per nine in Double-A simply aren't going to miss enough bats in the majors to be successful, especially without inducing an obscene amount of ground balls. As a left-hander with a decent curveball and good command, Rosenbaum has a shot at a relief role, but the Nationals (and opposing scouts) can't believe he still profiles as a pitcher who will spend any significant time in a starting rotation.

Whacked around a bit in his last start and finished with a 3.91 ERA.  Benefited from a low HR rate to have a 3.41 FIP.

Locked until the end of spring.   If he is returned under rule 5, then the link gets moved to the MoveOn.org / Lock and Load former prospects thread.

Good game last night. Six innings, 2H, 1 R and 15 groundouts.  A lefty starter in the wings.

Seven innings last night for Chiefs in a win against Durham Bulls.  Three hits and 18 ground balls.
Another Tommy Milone. :D

I hope so. I think Rizzos plan is to have one of the rookies be the number 5 when they are ready and will sign one year contracts like EJax and Haren until we have someone in the system that is primed for the show. I hope I am not stating the obvious.

Tommy Milone had an excellent strikeout rate in the minors, and I thought of him as a flyball pitcher.

I'm enamored with the fireballers, anyway.

Just meant that DR's a contact/control lefty who knows how to pitch. Milone has done well in MLB so far without much of a fastball.

Not to drag this too much into a Milone discussion, but I'll be really curious to watch how he does on the road this year.  I think he is a great fit for the Oakland Mausoleum and perhaps Safeco but I want to see him in less flyball-friendly environments.  Rosenbaum, if he is a true GB pitcher, might have an act that can play in more places.

He looks like another guy advanced stats may not like.  His ERA is around 1.67 and his SIERA is 5.28 this year (OK, it's only 16.2 innings).  Probably has to do with more walks than Ks, a lot of contact, and abnormally low BABIP. Last year, not so much a split.  Check his stats at Minor League Central in the helpful links for the Farm.

So far not so good. Bad outings in Anaheim at night and Tampa in the afternoon. Both parks are considered pitcher friendly. Anaheim more so at night than in the day.

He had fallen off the prospect status significantly but this news is never good.
