And that last popout by Zimmerman should be ruled a hit.

I agree, until Teddy wins, we're cursed.

Kearns, Belliard, Bard, Nieves should all be gone... when Rizzo builds a real roster.

Relax sf, the outcome is already decided and it doesn't matter anyway.

The thing was, Jones even knew he was out. That's why he stepped off the bag.

First the ump gives Berg the none balk call, and now this.

the worst thing is that the ball beat the runner and they always call that an out anyways. Nevermind that he clearly tagged him out too. just a bullcrap call.

Seriously though, Welkie or whatever the hell his name is has given Baltimore two calls today. You can't do that no matter how trivial the game is.

All of these stats affect Arbitration, awards, etc.

I don't care about awards or arbitration but it does actually affect the outcome of a ballgame and that blows. In his defense, if there is any, that was a bang bang play and the tag was not in plain sight. He still missed the call though.

Word from the Nationals clubhouse is that Nick Johnson, who was scheduled to start today's game at first base and bat second in the order, was scratched just prior to first pitch due to stomach discomfort.
