Looks like every action trailer than Hollywood regurgitates. However I'm still excited.

this could be the worst movie ever made

Quote
A fun and energetic family basketball movie starring Kevin Durant AS HIMSELF, a basketball star who switches talent with a klutzy 16 year old fan. When Brian, a hopelessly uncoordinated young fan magically switches talents with his hero, Kevin Durant, he becomes the star of his high school team...while Kevin Durant suddenly can't make a shot to save his life. But with the playoffs approaching, Brian learns that being a true winner involves working hard at your own game, and he tries to make things right in time to prevent a catastrophic end to his hero's season.

I'd vote for "The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh" with Dr. J.    :)

Doesn't that title still belong to some old flick named something like Manos, Hand of Fate? Or Battlefield Earth?

Hell, Shazam with Shaq had to be worse and using the same type as the star. This is a Freaky Friday, 13 Going On 30, Big redux using an NBA star. Sounds awful, don't get me wrong, but so were the Shaq movies or Jordan and Looney Tunes.

I knew I'd get it for that one... The execution of it might have worked, don't get me wrong. Doesn't make the fact that, before filming it and the first dailies came in, studio execs saying "Hey, you know those animated characters we got the rights to? Yeah, let's take them and some NBA star with no acting experience and make a movie!" any less wrong or exploitatively greedy. In the same way this Durant film could well be a masterpiece, the fact it got made is insane and stupid.

It'll be worth seeing just for Benedict Cumberbatch. He's awesome.

I was reading about this- apparently, the script has been around forever, but the CG has never been good enough until now- it should be interesting to see how the do it

She definitely shows off her butt in the dance scenes.

As for TDKR, I think it's a better overall film than TDK... Not as strong of a villain as TDK, but a better total film.

I'm thinking about going to see the Hobbit tomorrow while Ms1995hoo goes to get her haircut.

I can't decide between 2D and 3D. I've never been to a modern 3D movie (that is, the only 3D I've seen was back in the old days of those awful cardboard glasses). I wear prescription glasses for distance and I usually wear them at the movies. Will 3D glasses fit over a pair of prescription glasses? I do not own contacts and the thought of putting those things in my eyes creeps me out.

I saw it last night in 3D.  It was my first 3D movie as well and frankly, I was fairly underwhelmed by it.  The movie itself was excellent, I'm just not sure how much the 3D aspect added to it.  Once you get in the movie, and it starts, the weirdness factor wears off with the glasses because everyone else is wearing them too and if they're not the souvenir ones like we had last night, they do actually get cleaned between uses.

Yeah, I've kind of wondered if I'd find the 3D distracting when I see it for the first time. Guess I'll decide tomorrow.

But does anybody know about the compatibility of the 3D glasses with regular prescription glasses?

They are fairly flat and I'd imagine they'd work with your glasses although not perfectly. I wear contacts so I can't swear to it, but I've worn glasses with 3d glasses in the past and was OK if a little awkward.

Loved the movie, but I agree, I don't know how much "extra" 3D really brought to the table. First 20 minutes of the movie was kinda boring too, well, not so much boring as much as it was not really needed.

Uh... Ok. It was a pretty good movie, don't know where you're coming up with that, but ok then.

LOTR sparked a lot of NZ tourism- if you like hiking/biking/paddling,  the scenery really is stunning
