A review of Peacock's season so far by Fangraphs in their midseason review of their preseason top 100 prospects.

76. Brad Peacock, RHP, Oakland: Peacock joined Derek Norris in the off-season Gio Gonzalez deal that sent the prospects from Washington to Oakland. He’s struggled to adapt to a new organization but has had some very bad luck with a LOB% of just 55.3% and a BABIP of .390. His ERA sits at 7.00 but his FIP is just 3.68 at triple-A. (Value Down)

I was watching the AA All Star game and one of the announcers was talking about someone who had been taken in the Rule 5 draft.  It made me think about Brian Broderick.  I remembered he had a really bad year in Triple-A, after going back to St. Louis.  I was curious about how he was doing this year...and he's doing worse.  Last year, he is ERA was 5.04, his WHIP was 1.56.  This year his ERA is 7.18 and his WHIP is 1.88.

so far, this trade is one of the biggest steals ever.  we got a potential cy young winner and only gave up one guy who was major league ready (and doesn't project to be anything higher than a #3 starter).

Except a potential all-star catcher, as well. And don't count out Cole and Peacock.

It was a fair trade for both sides.

Given how well Gio is performing I'd still argue it's a bit lopsided, all they got so far that's proven is a #3 starter, for that they traded a top 5 pitcher.

Nah, different needs for each team makes it quite the win / win.  Norris is the As starting catcher, Milone is an effective starter (can pitch to the park), they still have 2 more potential helpful pieces for when they get good.  They gave up an All Star who is still an All Star, but he was going to be way to expensive for them to keep after this year.  Unsignable.

Instead of wining a bunch of games in Oakland 4 - 2 or 3 - 1, they are winning those games 4-3 or 3-2 at home.

46. A.J. Cole, RHP, Oakland: Cole got off to an extremely slow start after being included in an off-season trade between Washington and Oakland. The young hurler opened the year in high-A ball (California League) and posted a 7.82 ERA in eight starts. He was victimized by a .405 BABIP, though, and he also gave up seven home runs. The plus side is that he showed good control with a walk rate of 2.37 K/9. Cole is dominating low-A ball once again and should get another shot at high-A ball before too long (Value Down… a Bit)

God damn do I curse the day we traded him to the A's. At this point I don't even care how awesome Gio is. Milone is freaking awesome.

Milone will be one of the Nats biggest mistakes for decades. Dude is starting to become godlike. I will spare hyperbolic statements like he might have rivaled Strasburg as the ace of the staff, but lets face it, while we needed Gio, they should have traded basically any other prospects save Milone. It's starting to become painful every five days watching the box score anticipating a "hah! Milone ain't so hot after all" and watching him kick ass more and more.

Rizzo ain't going to swindle Beane. Some deals you are lucky to walk away from with your shirt.

Still has absolutely ridiculous home / road splits.  .91 ERA at home, 5.69 on the road.  His ERA .80 below his xFIP.  2 of his 3 starts this month (his best) have been at home, and the 3d was in another pitching friendly ballpark against a bad offense (Minnesota).  He's good, deserves a neutral ERA around 4 or a touch less, and maybe could have benefited from throwing against NL lineups, but if he were here, he might not be as good as Detwiler.
