If it's a ruptured disc, then I have some big time sympathy.

Mock on DL -  Ohhh, I thought you said it was a cranium injury - which would be no surprise there and explain his airhead tendencies, but spinal injuries -now how do you do that?
(I still believe if they opened Mock's head, they would find large amounts of wasteland....but I won't go down that road - after all this is "adopt a jock" day).

I thought they said cervix injury.

Yipes. I don't think they void options for a toenail. Also, good on the Nats for not stiffing him on the major league pay by trying to keep the assignment.

You're being sarcastic, right?  :icon_mrgreen: You are not serious, right?  :icon_mrgreen:
Actually, I am serious, and I'm glad you did not call me Shirley.  Optimum and the line up were both between 4.3 - 4.4 runs.  Optimized, by their tool, would use Dunn, Willingham, and Desmond for the most part in 1, 2, and 4 (orders vary), with Pudge and Guz mostly in 3 & 5 and Morgan 6, I think. Olsen 9th.  I used Zips rest of season projection fro everyone except Maxwell (I used Bill James) and Olsen (I used career average.

It's a fun tool, but it does not account for running and for handedness if you don't plug in split projections.  Basically, it is going to spit out something like, "get your two guys with .900+ OPs up as frequently as possible when the rest of the team is in the .700s, at best."

Still is. And when he keeps it down, he's a pretty good pitcher, too.

Too bad he leaves it up too often.

Okay. What does voided option mean, specifically - I get lost in some of these terms.

You can't demote a player that's injured.

Every time you kick a guy off the 25 man, you burn an option. Usually this can be done 3 times in the first 4 years of a players major league career. If he stays in the majors the entire year, you save an option.

He's not going to the minors, he's going to the 15-day DL in the majors, so the option stays intact.

Let's send him to a sports psychologist while he's on the mend, that way he can work on the aspect of the game between his ears and be ready to pitch when he comes back.

Off topic, but can anyone tell me my parking options for tomorrow's game. I'm trying not to spend a lot of money parking.

Park at one of the metro stations and ride the train in.

That's what I do every time.

It was a joke because someone was complaining yesterday about everyone always saying he is such a nice guy.  I could careless if he is or not, if you dont produce they have to find someone that will at this point.

Tomorrow is a holiday in DC so you may (or not) find parking restrictions lifted.

LOL!  YOU are actually going to a game and giving the evil Lerners money?  That's rich.

My favorite tactic is to park on the l'Enfant Promenade, near the l'Enfant Plaza hotel.
The meters there go off at 6:30 and I usually get there around 6 so it costs a buck, then I walk into the metro station through the hotel and it's 2 stops to the park.

I have never had any of my money directly go to the Lerners despite going to 6 Nats games. I hope I don't have to do it tomorrow either.
