I'll bet my avatar that Tim Redding posts a quality start against us.  Any takers?

I would, but I can't.

I've watched a couple of Redding's starts this year and he is BAD.  Plus, wait until you see how much weight he's gained.

Whoa, columns?  You can do columns?  I wish I had known that.  I would have done my Gameday threads so much differently if I had known about the columns option.  Shoot.

I'd be pumped that I can watch this game, but alas I have a game of my own tonight.

One thing's for sure, if it's a cold and rainy night, the pitcher we're facing is going for a historic win and since we suck......if there's a borderline pitch - I'M SWINGIN'!

He's been hanging out with Livan

It's kind of tedious, honestly.  I just rip off 2k6's old threads and fill in the right info.

I have a softball game tonight too, probably miss the first half of this one, but I might go and do some paint prep for the new place after that so I might be relegated to just highlights tonight...

What are you using as the parameters of a "quality start".  The sabermetrics version or Dibs' version?

6 IP, 3 or less ER, 10+ K No BB. Fire from his eyes and bolts of lightning from his arse.

Ok -- seriously: 6 or more IP, max of 3 ER?

If they don't kill Redding we better just sit out the rest of the season.

I wanted a piece of this action, although I wanted to see the lineups first , but how do you propose to work it out if we win? Will you take turns?

Putz is out for two months. going to have surgery.

Mets are in shambles and are decimated by injuries. They just got swept by the Pirates. We miss Santana this series too.

If we don't take 2 of 3 it would be a disgrace.

Well since I get to choose every loser's avatar if I'm right, I'd say consecutive sentences for me if I'm wrong (you choose my avatar for a week, then R-Zimm, etc.)

Or you could collaborate on an avatar and I'll keep it for however many weeks as there are winners.

Maybe we should do this like pro wrestling championships - whoever the current "title holder" is gets to choose when to "defend" and what the bet is, and then defends against all takers.  Or challengers can issue bets and the "champ" can choose to accept or not.

But when the title holder loses, his previous victims are released from their sentences.  UNTIL he or she loses, all victims must keep their avatars.  So for example sportsfan is stuck with david wright until somebody beats me ;)

I'm probably overthinking this but eh, it's better than hoping for wins without a fallback

Have we even won a series this year?

I'll bet the Mets fans are saying the same thing.  If their team is in shambles then our team is a grease fire.

we've won 3 series (2 if you don't count the Astros' one).
