What Heath doesn't realize is that he was so wasted he forgot he signed with the Marlins for a half a dozen open tuna cans.

Which reminds me of another guy who signed when he was wasted.

GTFO, if you really roomed with Prince Fielder you would have told us before.

Not too bad for Miami. This hurts Madson's market a lot. Has anyone expressed interest in him besides Miami?

Too much for reliever. Expensive for Miami, how can they afford anyone else?

I'll eat my crow if the Marlins sign Reyes.

Though part of me wants to see the fireworks once Hanley starts pouting about having to play something other than SS and Ozzie nages him out.  Hopefully they get Zambrano too.

The only person driving HanRam crazy and to tears is LoMo.  They should definitely pass on the Big Z though.  As long as they've got Big Mike Stanton who cares.

Leo Nunez doesn't actually exist.

i'm hopeful (and optimistic) that the big story next year will be the flailing Marlins overcome by in-fighting and off-the-field controversies who are on a pace to again lose 90 games.

Or that they'll be celebrating their third WS win after squeaking in as a Wild Card again.  Regardless of whether or not they land Reyes, the Marlins are going to be a very tough team next year in the NL.  Barring Big Mike Stanton getting caught up in an international coke trafficking ring, Josh Johnson's arm falling off, LoMo getting traded to the White Sux, and/or Hanley Ramirez really being 37 and a woman I don't see how they can fail this season.

If the marlins do a one year overhaul based on premier free agents and win the ws the lac drums will be louder than ever

I think another implosion is just as likely.  Too much potential for clubhouse discord.  There are plenty of potential points of failure there.

And just as many potential successes.

If they sell out their stadium more than 50% of the time and make the playoffs it'd be just as hard to ignore.

How did the Marlins do last year? Their pitching is not great after Top 2 starters, Hanley is an enigma, tough division, new manager.

They should finish ahead of the Mets but before any of the other teams in the division? Maybe if they sign Pujols, CJ Wilson, and Reyes.

Of which one (Josh Johnson) missed most of the season.

yep, add a guy like Reyes to a team that already includes morrison, hanley and guillen and there ought to be fireworks galore.

And JJ is still a big question mark, he never showed he was healthy and never got close to getting back to the majors last year (update: he was just cleared to start a throwing program).  Vazquez was their best pitcher, but he's a free agent and he hasn't put two good seasons in a row together in a while.  Nolasco and Volsted are #4/5 guys.  If Johnson isn't healthy, they have huge problems with their rotation.

Capuano 2/10 with the Dodgers.

Ned Colletti is on some kind of bad drug.

$5 million for a 4.55 ERA.  I need to teach my kids to pitch.

The Royals have fired Frank White from his announcing job because they thought he was too critical of the team. Dibble situation 2.0.
