Myers is expendable now due to the success of Gordon and Frenchy. If they do trade both Cain and Myers, KC should lock up Melky long term. I wonder what Atlanta's plan is with Cain. He can't stay in AAA for another year, but Bourn would be blocking him. I wonder if they plan on dealing Bourn away also?

Phillies trying to get Michael Cuddyer. Cuddyer is type A, plays RF, and wants 3 years.

#Royals trade OF Melky Cabrera to San Francisco for P Jonathan Sancez and minor-league pitcher Verdugo.

Royals seem to be serious about winning with these young kids.

Wow.

I think San Francisco got taken to the cleaners in that deal.

Though, I watched Verdugo pitch all season long in Richmond... and I don't remember a thing about him.

This should take SF out of the running for Coco Crisp.

Twins fired their GM to bring back Terry Ryan.

Wilson Ramos probably played a huge part in that firing.

I'm sure Mauer didn't hurt either

Deserved, but sorry to see Terry Ryan having to take back over.  You groom a replacement and then he bombs.  Smith was awful.   I loved how the Twins made consolidation moot by winning in the early 00's, so I continue to wish them well.  Gardy had some good luck with them, although I'm not sure I am wild about him as manager.  I hope Ryan can turn things around.

N.L. East free agent frenzy in the works? Even the Marlins are showing interest in the big names.

Quote
South Florida's MLB team may have changed beyond recognition by the time the 2012 season begins and it has nothing to do with what they'll be wearing. As they prepare to move into a new stadium, the soon-to-be Miami Marlins are targeting baseball's top free agents. They've contacted Jose Reyes and, according to ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick, first basemen Prince Fielder and Albert Pujols are also on their radar (all Twitter links).

...Plus, they're hoping to add left-handed starting pitching this offseason, as Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports points out (on Twitter). Jon Heyman of SI.com reported earlier today that Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen is pushing for Fielder or Pujols.

Was that intentional?  With Big Mike Stanton and a couple of free agent studs the Fish are going to be legit next season.

I wonder how much they need to overpay for people to wear the orange duck uniforms?

Oddly similar to the Dolphins, maybe the Heat will change their colors after the lockout...
