A Wholefoods is going in @Navy Yard as well.  That could come in handy for tailgating.
the real reason MDS is leaving the area.

Hampton Inn is opening a location directly at 1st and N, directly across from Nats Park (opposite from where the will call box office windows are located).  Construction will start later this year.

Two new hotels hopefully means two new bars.

The hotels should do a booming business and be able to name their price.  Being able to stay almost at the park will entice a lot of people.

Sadly, I think a lot of people would probably only willingly travel around Chocolate City inside a tank.

I think there is a DMZ running from the Library of congress to M street in Georgetown. The more adventurous could even go up Connecticut ave through Dupont to the cathedral and zoo

Remember that map of the "safe parts of town" that got sent out to participants in Glenn Beck's rally?   Basically NoVa with a narrow corridor across Memorial Bridge to the Mall.  The rest of DC was apparently considered bandit country :hysterical:

Man, that is hilarious.   I must have been pretty wild (in Beck's mind) in my day.   I've partied all over the orangeish looking area.   :)

I knew tanks.  Tanks were friends of mine.  Ali - YOU could never drive a tank around the city.
