Given his ankle troubles involving running, I'm not sure if the outfield is a good place for him.

Yep, he would snap off both of his ankles trying to play in the outfield.

So far 1 for 2 with a double and a run.

Meyer has given up only a hit after 5.

Hmmmm ... maybe we should give him a crack at Double A first before annointing him as the savior of DC baseball

Not sure where you gathered that their posts were calling him the savior of baseball, especially considering the Nats are in first place. What exactly is he going to save them from? And then your insight on him playing outfield doesn't make much sense to me either. He doesn't have a problem running, it's the cutbacks that he has a problem with. When exactly would he be making cuts in the outfield??

He doesn't have a problem running yet he's had three ankle injuries while running ... hmmmm ......

And, to be honest, first base and second base are really his only options at this point. Harper, Goodwin, and Werth will have the outfield on lockdown for a while.

I get where you're coming from but running isn't the issue, it's making sudden cutbacks. Hell, until he stays healthy for a while, I'd be worried if he made a sudden cut while walking.

Agree. While most people here are afraid to put him at 2nd because of his ankles, none of his injuries occured while playing the field.

He was rounding third when the coach put up the stop sign and he had to cut back to the base.

It's still running. Dude has ankles of glass. And we're set at the outfield position for a while. Especially with LaRoche's option.

I think Rendon is going to bring in a haul when we trade him to to an AL team as a DH.
