I think I fixed it. The computer I installed it on used integrated graphics (the old style integrated graphics not the new gpu on the cpu kind of integrated graphics) and the WEI graphics scores were very low, 3.1 was the lowest and that's really low considering the rest of the computer's components (Phenom II X4 830 CPU, 8GB DD3, 120GB SSD) I installed a discrete video card (a relatively cheap one as, again, I'm not a gamer), raising my lowest WEI score to 4.5 and tried it again.
Solitaire and Pinball worked perfectly.
