8-3 in one-run games...  I have flashbacks to 2005 and hear "law of averages" ringing in my head when I hear that stat.

The Nationals were DEAD LAST in virtually every batting category in 2005.  We have respectable or good rankings for batting and pitching this year, although our 2010 pitching has some of the fewest strikeouts in MLB.  We were tied for #1 in triples hit, before tonight.  

But we LEAD MLB in saves, something we were near the bottom of for years.  So I don't think the "Law of Averages" applies to THIS team, as they specialize in winning close games, and have the talent to do it.

And today is LUIS ATILANO's BIRTHDAY...
