Franchise will never be the same

FWIW, we promptly lost 5 in a row last year after signing Strasburg. (and 17 of 21)

  Maybe the key is to let him think he's riding the pine until the very last minute.

We were laying the groundwork for Harper...now we'll be laying the groundwork for Rendon though Purke is more of a need for us.

i don't think we're getting Rendon given we still lead Pittsburgh by 5.5, if the season ended today we'd pick 8th.

What are the chances we win a game this week? That could let us "pick up" a couple of games. Remember we were "ahead" of Seattle two years ago and pulled behind them at the end of the season.

Ya know, every team has games like this over the course of the season.  See the Rangers tonight.  But this seems to be happening a bit too regularly over the past few weeks.

13 losses by 5 runs or more before the ASB in 89 games.  8 since in 29 games.  Pretty sure I counted everything correctly.

Edited for accuracy...

We'll get 1 somewhere.  Maybe two.  I still like our matchups in ATL.  Livan tomorrow gives us the best chance to beat Hudson sort of Strasburg and we've done ok vs. Lowe.  Stras vs. Kendrick is a favorable matchup.  I'm excited to see how SS handles the Philly atmosphere, much less their lineup.

.207 according to Bob Carpenter.
