Oh boy, can't wait to hear everyone whine and complain about Dukes celebration.

Or has everyone gotten over that stuff now?

That was a fun game. Lots of runs, lots of drama. Love that crap. Records don't matter at that point.

IMO, there are only two things that can stop him from being a star in this league: Off the field crap and injuries. He just keeps improving.

At WHAT point does Air Zimmerman FINALLY recognize the true
BEASTLINESS of
ELIJAH DUKES
and CHANGE HIS USER NAME to
Air Dukes?

Another big time at bat.  All those WALKS he took in May have developed plate discipline that is now terrifying opposing pitchers!!!

Dukes did NOT play this way for Tampa Bay!

He actually walked just as much for them (.190 BA, but w/ a .318 OBP), but he's not swinging for the fences w/ every swing now.

Game ball has to go to Hernandez. 3-for-5, 3 RBI, 1 Walk, and a big time relay throw home.

Dude's on fire.

Can't believe I missed this game. Watching the replay now. This team is freaking awesome. That is all.

Edit: Oh, and also Jason Bergmann is a freaking bum.

the game started dreadfully, with Berg serving up Beachballs, down 4-0, then 6-2, and it ended in JUBILATION after Dukes amazing ab that resulted in a WALK-OFF WALK!

I think its good luck when I'm not there... I missed that streak against the Rockies/Reds, and I've missed the last couple of games... caught up in gameday, an amazing win.

Flores is a STUD. Wow, what a play he made blocking the plate off and tagging the runner. His double was big too.

We got a team here, folks. If things break our way we could win the division next year. We got more young talent that anyone in our division by far. The Braves are going to be horrible for the foreseeable future and the Mets and Phils have about hit the end of their roads.

That is how you summarize the whole game in our head, isn't it? So much more happened than that. It was a great game.

Wow, you really only have extreme highs and extreme lows.  We still need a lot more to compete, just like we did last week.

Flores still has a lot of work to do to be a good player at this level (just like most of our players). His season numbers are just average now, and those are the numbers that matter.

His numbers are not just average. His RBI production is stellar. He is a great young catcher playing his first full season as an everyday catcher.

We have a lot of really great pieces. The team we have constructed can be competitive for years. Flores, Milledge, Dukes, Zim, Bonifacio, and a slew of others are a great base. Sure we need a little but we are not far off. I'm with AZ. With a little relief help and either the signing of a 1B-man and/or a LF-er and we are looking money. Hell, you never know. Someone like AK or Pena could have a career year and NJ could finally stay healthy for a year. Like I said, if we catch a few breaks next year we could be looking at a division winner. The Mets and Phils are going down hill.
