For Armas, 1-2-3-4, is just as good as 1-2-3.

When you figure Lopez' decent OBP and the fact that Soriano has a high percentage of extra base hits, you can start adding up the number of lost games that could have been won with Lopez at leadoff.  Pitchers try to strike Soriano out with nobody on, so he gets hittable pitches.  But we hired him to help us win, not pad his stats.  Pitchers would still have to pitch to him if Nick batted 3rd and Zimmerman 4th.

Soriano's 42nd homer puts him within 3 of the city record of 45 by Frank Howard, (who attends about 70% of the games.)

At $2.1 million a season, Tony Armas is pratically stealing!

Way to throw that slider Tony.  I think if he just threw all fastballs, he'd be more effective than he is now.  HR for Mike Liberthal, that's really embarrassing.

Doesn't seem like the Phillies have any problem hitting with men on base.

Philadelphia 4
Washington 1

another slider for a base hit.. What a bleeping joke.  Bob and Tom continue to bash Tony as well.  That's the Best part of this game so far.

With our pitching staff, it's not possible for us to score enough runs to stay in most games.

Atleast Guzman can't hurt the team while he is not playing.  Every time Armas pitches, he puts the team in a hole.
