From what I heard, no they didn't add the extra wild card spots since the game was completed before the deal was made.

2k12 has the wildcard spots.

They have generic spring training ball parks for each team. I wish they could put detail into the look of the ST parks also. It would be a nice touch.

Just bought a new PS3 340gig bundle with Uncharted 3 and also bought The Show. Can't wait to play, but have to play nice with the wife for awhile first. God bless her

Play the first two uncharted games first if you don't want to be lost. It will also make you appreciate each successive game.

So, the more I sim, the more I realize the Nats roster 'in-game' is just not rated high enough to be a winner. I've yet to see Desmond or Espinoa crack the .230 mark.

Alright, convince me why I should buy The Show.  I bought it a couple of years ago and just got really bored with it, though I liked the last one when I played it at Breast Buy.

Did you ever play Skyrim?

If you didn't like the last one you played I wouldn't waste my money. It's more of the same... But more of the same, if you like the game is a great game.

Yeah, I played and beat the first 2 when they came out. Two of my favorite games ever.

I love The Show, but I really don't know how I can convince you to buy it or not MDS.

Hell no.  I've kind of lost interest in video games but my wife did.

Well... I'd spend your money on something other than a video game then.

I agree. Between Uncharted, Mass Effect, Heavy Rain, etc. I love how video games are getting more character and story driven. They make you feel things and it's great. I would consider the uncharted series as some of the best video games ever made, dating back to the atari days of early video games.

I recommend Heavy Rain to anyone that hasn't played. The Show is great if you love baseball and video games (which i'm assuming is the case if you are reading this thread on an Nats board).

Is it that good?  It looked really cool but I wasn't sure if it would be all that.

It's very good if you like a story-driven, dark game. It's very depressing in its tone, so if that's not your thing, then don't bother. Great graphics, good characters, suspense, cliffhanger who-done-it kind of mystery. I sure as heck didn't see most of what happened coming and that's probably why I liked it. It kept me guessing.
It's also not appropriate for children, so if that's an issue, make sure they're not around as it's very much an adult game. It's short (maybe 10-15 hrs), so renting it might be a better idea as it lacks replay value once you're done. It's also a "movie-like" game, so it's not traditional gameplay really, more of doing a series of tasks and then "watching" most of the game, also avoid if you're not into that kind of gameplay.

I go through phases like that.  Was tearing it up between Skyrim and StarCraft II from November through early February, but I haven't touched a game in about a month now and am not even that pressed to pick up ME3 in spite of how much I'd been looking forward to it.

Same with me. I'm usually hyped up for games in the fall when all of the triple AAA titles are coming out. I tend to not play as much in the spring/summer months.

Much like any other entertainment industry, video games have their "good and bad seasons" too. I used to remember marquee games tended to come out in July and August, now they're being moved to Sep/Oct/Nov, right before the Xmas rush I guess. Winter/Spring are always the slow times of years for the top-shelf games.

So 2K12 isn't worth buying if you already have 2K11? That's what it sounds like.

My friend was telling me that it's really easy to balk in MLB 12, and that the fielding is really stupid.

Kind of making me not want to buy it.

You can turn off balks.

Fielding is no different than it usually is.

Having said that... the game is more of the same. If you love The Show with updated rosters, you'll love the game. If you need something more... there's not a lot to get excited about.

I was kind of hoping for improved pitching, but I might end up buying it anyway.
