John Lannan - 3 starts, 8 ER, 17.33 IP, 4.15 ERA

Jason Marquis - 2 starts, 6 ER, 9 IP, 6 ERA

Last start for the bet. Go me.

Hopefully Marquis will be average enough to avoid the sweep. It would really suck to fall behind the Cubs, record wise.

so you basically need Marquis to go longer than he's gone all season pitching better than he has all season. I'm rooting for it, and if there is a team he should be able to do it against it's the cubs, but it looks like a longshot

I believe the scenarios are as follows:

2 ER, 9 IP
1 ER, 9 IP
1 ER, 8 IP
1 ER, 7 IP
0 ER, 9 IP
0 ER, 8 IP
0 ER, 7 IP
0 ER, 6 IP
0 ER, 5 IP
0 ER, 4 IP

It's not looking good.

Quote
In the wake of controversial comments he made regarding Stephen Strasburg on his Sirius XM radio show, MASN analyst Rob Dibble will not work tonight's game or tomorrow's game.

Several MASN employees were not certain why Dibble will not work the next two games, but Nationals President Stan Kasten shed some light and perhaps gave a not-so-thinly-veiled opinion of Dibble's comments.

"Rob asked for some time off," Kasten said. "Perhaps he's not feeling well. But I'm not a doctor, nor have I seen his records. So I shouldn't say anything more about it."

Dibble also found the spotlight recently for comments about a pair of women sitting behind home plate during a MASN telecast. Dibble later apologized to those he offended, both in print and on camera.

Ray Knight will work alongside MASN play-by-play man Bob Carpenter for the next two nights.

What a joke. People are so stupid. Bunch of nag ass, douchebag Nationals fans

If Dibble is asking for the time off, who is the "nag ass"? :lmao:

Not that I find anything wrong with taking time off. In fact, we all probably could use more time off work.

Dibble didn't ask for crap. The Nats/MASN want to punish him for his comments because of all the douchebags and jerks who freaked out.

For starters, he does cover a team in DC after all...

Also, can we get Gary Carter to do the Tony Gwynn thing starting ASAP?

In short, he told Strasburg to suck it up.

Is that a mindfact or do you have some kind of corroborative evidence? The article you plagiarized claims the opposite of what you are claiming.

EDIT: BTW, here is the link in case you want to actually read more about it.

It's not looking good.

Marquis would have a 5 ERA if not for Dunn's blunder at first in his last outing that led to an "earned run" (the only run of that particular game). The score keeper ruled it a hit but that should've been an error all the way. If this ends up close, how ironic would it be that SF gets a helping hand from Dunn?  :lmao:

Don't know why... but tonight feels like Marquis needs some inspiration from The Man in Black

You wired me awake
and hit me with a hand of broken nails.
You tied my lead and pulled my chain
to watch my blood begin to boil.

But I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
gonna break my rusty cage and run.
I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
gonna break my rusty cage and run.

Too cold to start a fire
I'm burning diesel, burning dinosaur bones.
I'll take the river down to still water
and ride a pack of dogs.

I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
gonna break my rusty cage and run.
I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
gonna break my rusty cage and run.

When the forest burns along the road
like God's eyes in my headlights.
When the dogs are looking for their bones
and it's raining icepicks on your steel shore.

I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run.
I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
gonna break my rusty cage and run.
I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
gonna break my rusty cage and run.
I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
gonna break my rusty cage and run.

Marquis is a bum.  Going to get lit up again.  No reason for him to be in the rotation still.

I don't know what Marquis is arguing about. That was clearly a balk.
